Obsessor Spirits

OBSESSION - An Act of Vengeance

 

In many of our sessions, we have encountered spirits who were around someone human (in the material world), because they were seeking revenge - or some sort of closure - for what happened in this life or a previous life.  We humans usually suffer when they are around.   In this reincarnation, Spiritism teaches us that our suffering arises as a direct result of our own mistakes and the poor use of our free will.  The suffering that does not pertain to our present life usually has roots in a previous existence. This is often referred to as a moral debt, or a consequence of one of our past existences. IMPORTANT: Not every suffering that we endure is a spirit based obsession.

 

Allan Kardec writes, "Obsession is almost always the expression of vengeance sought by a spirit, the origin of which is frequently found in relationships that the obsessed victim had with the obsessor, in a preceding existence." The spirits found on the planet Earth are still very far from their evolutionary goal of moral and intellectual imperfection.  When another human hurts us in any way, we are often driven, by our inferior tendencies, to seek out revenge. We should know better from our moral teachings, but instead, we want the one who caused our suffering to suffer the same fate.

 

When we depart for the spiritual world, at the death of our physical body, we do not abandon our negative inclinations simply by leaving the material body behind. We carry with us all the sentiments that we cultivated on Earth, both good and bad.  We maintain our individuality.  If we do not make peace with our enemies before our transition, we carry those feelings of resentment and desires for revenge with us, and we continue to act upon them, even from the spiritual side. If the individual who is the object of our revengeful desires remains in - or returns to - the material world, the process of a vengeance-driven obsession begins.

How does a desire for revenge become an obsession?

 

An obsessor spirit becomes so overwhelmed by the pain of his suffering and the desire to take justice into his own hands, he often develops a total mental fixation.  For him, all time stops, and he is blinded to everything except this tormenting situation. He begins to persecute his enemy. The spirit was a victim in the past, and now he seeks revenge on the one he holds responsible for his suffering.

It is for this reason that we say that the human individual is living out the consequences of his own actions. In other words, the harm an individual caused in a previous life has now returned to cause him harm in this life.  When we reincarnate, we do not remember our past lives.  Our memory is temporarily clouded by the influence of our material existence  So we may not even be consciously be aware of the efforts of a vengeful spirit to cause us harm. 

 

However, our spirit does retain this memory, and we carry those continued feelings of contempt, or we carry the guilt with us over having committed them. The creditor and his debtor often meet again, in the spiritual realm.  When the incarnate (human) individual's spirit is partially liberated (while the body sleeps), these confrontations help to keep those past negative feelings fresh. When we wake up, the harmful feelings from the spirit may have established a mental connection between the spirit and the human individual. If a person fails to be attentive to his thoughts and actions (or gives into inferior tendencies), he will diminish his own spiritual defenses, opening the door for his spiritual persecutor to take action against him.

It should also be noted that a spirit seeking vengeance against an individual may decide take action against a family member of that person - or someone else that is close to him or her, as that person might be more sensitive to the spirit's influence.  By making another person suffer, the spirit has found a way to cause anguish and pain for his primary target.

 

How do we recognize these obsessor spirits?

 

In a case where the obsessor spirit has not become severe, the human individual needs to be able to recognize the possibility of an outside spiritual influence. Signals that would indicate obsession include:

1) Strange ideas which are of a disagreeable nature

2) Uncharacteristic behavior or personality changes

3) Sudden mood swings and frequent onsets of negative sentiments (sadness, anger, fear, etc.)

4) The willingness to act on negative influences instead of overcoming them

5) The appearance or sensation of physical ailments with no medical explanation

How can obsessor spirits be removed?

Allan Kardec writes in Genesis that for the obsessed human individual, our own hard work toward self improvement (in the majority of cases), is enough to free ourselves from the obsessor spirit, without any help from others.  In more severe cases, help from a Spiritist Center (passing spirits, magnetized water or passes, for example) is advised.

Efforts toward inner reform (as explained by Spiritist teachings), are the key to warding off the harmful influence of unhappy, inferior spirits. The way to achieve this change and work toward personal growth is:

1) The cultivation of elevated thoughts

2) The regular dedication of our time for moments of study, reflection, and prayer

3) The regular practice of kindness and compassion toward others, while seeking to diminish the dominance of moral weaknesses within ourselves

With regards to prayer, pray to God and to the spirit guide(s) to help focus your efforts to change, and asking for strength and protection. At the same time, pray for the obsessor spirit, asking that this spirit may be helped and enabled to forgive the object of his obsession for any wrongdoing that was done, that the spirit's suffering be alleviated, and that the spirit be shown a better way, that leads to peace and tranquility.

Spiritists also need to understand the importance of time set aside for individual study of Spiritism's literary resources, and for attending public meetings at a Spiritist Center. The continued philosophical education of Spiritism will help an individual to understand the reason for his or her suffering, the need for compassion and forgiveness, and the importance of the opportunities presented in the current incarnation.  These moral teachings serve as both the compass and the nourishment needed in our journey towards inner reform, by strengthening our efforts to develop positive qualities while diminishing our inferior inclinations.

Chicago - August 10, 2016

In attendance:

Carmen, Denise, Emiliano, Eva, Gabe, Isaac, Isabel, Jeff, Jovanni, Juan, Nelson, Sonia and Xaver

 

Spirit 1 (via Nelson):  While we were discussing the perispirit during our class, we were joined by some spiritual friends who were around Juanita in the hospital.
Nelson (to Juan):  You don’t want to bury another daughter, do you?
Juan: No.
Nelson:  There are some spiritual friends with your daughter (Juanita) and they are asking why she has not been treated well.  Why there is no affection for her.  These spirits are angry with you.
Sonia: You are treating her the same way you did in the last life…and you were given the opportunity to be with her again to improve.
Emiliano:  He is not a very affectionate man. 
Nelson:  She doesn’t want to die until she gets a little bit of love - and tonight she thought she was dying.  We need to change that.  She’s very tired of being mistreated by everyone in her family.  She thinks that if she dies, it might make everyone respect her more…the spirits are listening, and they are asking why she is being treated this way…
(A forceful spirit arrived to sit through Nelson)
Spirit:  Why have you brought me here?  They never change!  I keep listening, and it’s always the same.  I have made that hospital a living hell, because I am a good worker.  (laughed and looked at Jeff)  Even the gringo didn’t want to go there!  And I’m going back.  No one has suffered as much as I have.  We have been researching her, and now I am not leaving her until I am done.  She is not afraid of dying.  She fears only the living - her family.  When everyone is afraid of losing her, I gain a lot.  I cannot leave her now, and I will tell you why.  I lent her to that family to be treated better.  SHE IS NOT A SERVANT!  I am taking her to stop her suffering, to stop the cooking and cleaning.  (to Juan)  When is she getting a kiss from you?  When is the last time you told your daughter you loved her? 
(Carmen and Sonia continued to coach the spirit)
Spirit: You know I did not want to come - so why am I here?  (coughing)  The medicine you give her hurts me.  I wanted to bring her back, to be with me.  This guy (spirit guide) says I have to go.  I made a pact with him - If I don’t see any change from them towards her, I’m coming back - to stay.  (sobbing)  If I come back, I will never leave her!  She doesn’t stop crying, and neither do I.  (sadly, with deep emotion)  Treat my princess well.  Treat her well…

 

The spirit was part of a group of 16, and as they left, Nelson was shown that a group of good spirits were being sent to the hospital to cleanse what they left behind.  Nelson also saw that there was still a dark shadow around Juanita, and it was creating more friction. 

 

Spirits 2 & 3 (via Carmen): The shadow was another group of spirits, and they were related to Emiliano:
Spirit (to Emiliano):  You are causing harm.  I do not want you around her.  You are not going back, and she is going to die.
Emiliano:  Why are you so angry with me?
Spirit:  You took her away from me!
Sonia:  Under horrible conditions, I can see it.
Spirit: Yes!  He took my sight so I couldn’t find her!  I don’t want him near her.  I will be there with her, before he gets another opportunity.  My eyes were sewn shut.  He was a criminal - a murderer!  He took her from me and mistreated her, and now it’s the same.  He is still the same - the same one!  (pause)  They are removing that thread, that sewing from my eyes.  I am seeing shadows.  (pause)  I am seeing him.  Forgive me, I have the wrong person.  I need to learn how to be respectful.  There are 32 of us, and we all need to be more respectful.  She was shielded from seeing me, I understand that now.  I feel lighter, and free.  (to Emiliano)  Give her love.  It’s all I wanted to give her.

 

Carmen’s guide arrived to cleanse her and bless our table once the group of spirits departed.  And we resumed the class.

Chicago - July 31, 2016

In attendance:
Bernardo, Carmen, Denise, Emiliano, Esperanza, Eva, Gabe, Isabel, Isaac, Jeff, Juan, Maricela, Marisol, Milagros, Nazario, Nelson, Ron, Sonia, and Xaver

 

After the opening prayer, Marisol read the prayer for the sick.  She asked about Juanita's health, and Maricela said that she was suffering from a swollen foot and hand on one side of her body.  Nelson wondered about a possible connection with a spirit in a wheelchair who was present earlier, when he was having a conversation with Carmen.  This spirit was having an effect on both Juanita and Carmen, as everyone knew each other from the past, at Cando's center.  

 

Spirit 1 (via Nelson):  The spirit in the wheelchair was named Maria, and she was studying each person at our table, looking for someone to help her understand the "whys" of many things on the spirit side.  The spirit thought that more should have been done to help her.  Marisol understood that the spirit did not yet realize that she was dead.  The somber spirit passed into Nelson, breathing heavily and with a slight tone of resentment over where she was and how she felt:

Spirit: Why didn't you help me more?  I'm just asking, not interrogating.  (looked at Carmen)  I knew she could help, she was the only one who ever gave me hope.  I want to know what happens after we die.  (Maricela began to answer, but the spirit refused to speak to her.)

Carmen:  We tried to help you.  Now you are not in the material world anymore.

Spirit:  Do you know how hard it is to be in this condition for so long?  With no energy?

Marisol: You no longer have a body to feel that pain.

Spirit: Even if I understand that, my mind tells me one thing and my body feels another way.  So I don't need to be in this wheelchair anymore? 

Marisol:  No.  And they will take you to a hospital to treat your mind.

Spirit:  How sad that I could have done more for myself than I did.  (to Carmen)  I'm sorry.  I wanted to make you feel like I did, so you would understand.

Carmen:  It's okay, and now I want to help you again, to go with that guide.

Spirit (tearfully):  Thank all of you for helping me to understand.  I'm leaving.  I will get out of this chair and walk out.  It is not easy. I need to also thank him (the spirit guide) for answering the "whys" for me.  How difficult it is to walk, after never doing it before...

 

The spirit departed, and Nelson stood painfully to stretch the pain he felt in his lower back.  Marisol sensed a group of reluctant spirits who wanted to come in the door, and she invited them to our table.  These spirits were confused, as they had previously attended sessions in the building we were occupying, but the work we were doing was different from what they did in the past.  Sonia explained that there was once a cabinet by the wall where Nelson and Marisol were now seated.  The cabinet had a black curtain with a red light inside.  During the Friday night classes, someone would enter the cabinet, and spiritual presences would surround that person.  The cabinet was destroyed in a flood, and it was never rebuilt.  These spirits were looking for the cabinet they remembered.

 

Spirit 2 (via Marisol):  Marisol explained to the group of spirits that they no longer needed that cabinet to move on.  The spirits were still puzzled, insisting that they "wanted that box."  Nelson moved his chair away from Marisol, and one of the spirits agreed to speak through her - as he visualized her as the cabinet:

Spirit (formally):  Good afternoon, brothers and sisters.  We had our services upstairs.  Why are you down here?  Downstairs is special.  Where is it?  Where is the cabinet?
Jeff: You are in the cabinet, speaking to us.

Sonia: Look around, you are there.

Spirit: You should all move back upstairs.

Nelson:  That has changed...but our work is similar to yours.

Spirit (to Nelson):  You should not move around, why are you standing?  Sit down (Nelson sat).  There can only be one person in the cabinet at a time.

Nelson:  You have brought a lot of friends with you.

Spirit (curious):  This is so strange for all of us.

Jeff: We only want to know who you are and how we can help you.

Spirit: We always came here together.  Why is this man (spirit guide) talking to us?  He cannot be in the cabinet.  He is telling us that we do not need that box, that he can take us to another service.  (pause)  He is saying that the place does not matter, the work is what matters.  We are curious, as we come from another time, much further back.  There are 112 of us, and we will all go together.  We are going with him.  May the peace of God be with you...

 

While the spirit was speaking to our table, he was also turning sideways to explain what he was learning to his group.  Marisol explained that the spirit and his group were asking for some clarity before they would all agree to move forward.

 

Spirits 3 & 4 (via Carmen):  Carmen had been studying a spirit who was with Juanita and wanted to speak:

Spirit (sounding sick):  I'm healthy, really healthy.  I'm just looking for what is mine, so I had to make her (Juanita) sick.  I'm healthy, but I need to control her - so she will do what I say.  She lives with me.

Nelson: Today is a divorce from her.

Spirit:  I put her legs to sleep so she doesn't move away from me.  (pause)  My mouth tastes like blood.  I don't like it, I can't breathe right.  I only taste blood.  I feel bad now, take this away.  I'm cold, it's horrible.

 

The spirit was persuaded to move away from Juanita, and Carmen's guide arrived with a cleansing message.  She said that Carmen was becoming afraid of spirits.  Bernardo attracted too many spirits that he could not handle, and Carmen was now apprehensive to pass any of them - including her own guide.  After her spirit guide stepped back, Carmen shared that she had experienced a horrible week.

 

Nelson had a dream during the week regarding Jeff's birth father.  The birth father had transitioned back to the spirit world, and he was seeking revenge with Jeff's mother, as she left the father when Jeff was three years old.  Jeff never had any contact with his father. 

 

Spirit 5 (via Nelson):  In the dream, the father wanted Jeff to know, "I didn't leave you, she made me leave you, and I never had any chance to love you.  She took that away from me.  If you ever had anyone to blame, don't blame me.  She wouldn't let me."  Nelson understood that the father knew he was dead, and he was determined to haunt his former spouse.  He was in the room with us, but he refused to sit because he knew that he would need to move on, and he wanted to torture Jeff's mother a little longer.  He eventually agreed to speak to Marisol from his position behind Nelson:

Spirit: If I talk, does that mean I have to leave?

Marisol:  It would be to a better place. 

Spirit: I haven't finished what I want to do.  She took my good years, and now I'm going to take her final years...

The spirit mentally told Nelson that he died from diabetic shock, and he told our table that he would remove himself to think about the possibility of sitting in the future.  He thought Jeff did not resemble him, and he said he always wondered if he really was Jeff's real father.  "I am going to observe more, and then I will make my choice," the spirit said. leaving abruptly.

 

Spirit 6 (via Marisol):  There was a brief message for Eva.  Her spiritual faith has kept her moving forward, and although she may not always think about it, her prayers have been answered.  The message was from the spirit of Eva's father, and he told her, "Prayers can make miracles happen.  I taught you that."  He said that he stops by her whenever he has a chance.  He knew that she had visited different spiritual groups, and he asked her, "And now, you have found what you were looking for, correct?  And isn't that what you were praying for all along?"  Eva gratefully agreed, and her father faded away softly.

 

Nelson was being shown a massive spiritual army that was ready for battle.  A leader from the assembled battalions stepped forward.  He spoke in a military cadence to address our table and his assembled troops at the same time:

Spirit: None of you realize how close we are to a war.  We have everyone assembled and all of our battle gear on - except for the boots.  In fact, we are already at war, as some of the troops have their boots on, and they are at battle. 

Marisol:  We pray for peace.

Denise: Lay down your arms, wherever you are.

Spirit: We need to be prepared.  We are ready.

Jeff: What if we cancel that mission?

Spirit: We hear them, calling us to war.  You say put the arms down, we hear, 'Put them on!'  We are everywhere.

 

Marisol understood that this was a spirit army, and she explained the concept to the table.  These soldiers were part of a spiritual army that fought for peace - not war and destruction.  They were hoping for peace, but if it could not be achieved, they were prepared to go to battle for it. 

Spirit:  We are prepared!  With very strong forces.  We are prepared spirits, not in the material world!

Marisol:  We are praying, sending you thoughts of peace.

Spirit:  We are not getting those thoughts of peace - only war.  We are the ones trying to stop it, the nonsense of you humans.

Marisol:  We need to stop it, or many will die.

Spirit:  Many are already dying - today!  The innocent, and the children - they are dying.

Marisol:  And you try to protect them.

Spirit:  Do you know how hard our jobs are?  To always be ready?  You are not alone, you are protected by us, and we, the spirit world, will not allow war to happen.  We feel and understand the chaos in your world, but we are tired of being prepared, constantly on alert for war.  We could not leave you until another group was prepared to protect you.  And today my battalion will move on.  We are tired, just as you get tired.  Today is our day.

Marisol:  The changing of the guard.

Spirit: Correct!  We will be at peace, and we need that rest.  Pray!  Don't be selfish and pray just for yourselves.  Pray for some peace in the world!  We are ready to move on.  Today is our turn, and it's our time, because we have earned it.  Thank you for allowing all of us to serve you.  We guard the world from those who do not want peace.  Tonight, when you do your prayers, take a moment to think about us.  We are leaving someone else in charge now.  Keep the doors open here. 

 

The spirit of the commander signed off with a military salute.  Sonia said, "We kept them active with our prayers, that band of energy."  Emiliano said he saw a spirit offering him a spoon, and as he reached for it, the spoon was taken away.  Nelson closed with a prayer. 

Just A Thought

Chicago - July 24, 2016

In attendance:
Bernardo, Carmen, Denise, Emiliano, Erika, Esperanza, Eva, Frank, Gabe, Isabel, Isaac, Janet, Jose, Juan, Juanita, Jeff, Maricela, Marisol, Milagros, Nelson, Ron, Sonia, and Xaver

 

After the opening prayer, Marisol read the prayer for the sick and the prayer for peace.   Nelson turned his attention to Eva, as there was a spirit present for her daughter (Rossana).  The spirit was connected to Rossana's infant son.  In a previous life, the son and this spirit were both military leaders who opposed each other.  The spirit was still wearing his uniform, and he would now be born as a brother to Rossana's son, as a way for the two of them to resolve that prior adversarial relationship.  Nelson sensed that there was a "love-hate relationship" currently between them, as they viewed each other as 'frenimies" (they respected each other as friends, but they were enemies below the surface).  Similar to the son Rossana that already had, this spirit was also previously a top director of his group, and there were spirits from his group who did not want him to reincarnate as the brother of their perceived enemy.  Ironically, it was the infant brother who was already born who was the one inviting this spirit to join him.

 

In their previous relationship, the son that Rossana already has was responsible for the death of this spirit, which is how this spirit found his way to our table.  He was very reluctant to spend another lifetime with someone who had caused his previous life to end, but was curious over the invitation to become his brother.  The current son had been explaining to his potential brother that the home they would share was a place of love (not war), and that coming together would be the only way for the two of them to learn, grow and progress together.  The current son said that he was also frightened and apprehensive before he arrived, but now he was very happy and content.  The spirit still had some concerns, as he was remembering that past life of war that they had endured together.  (Note: We lose our memory of our previous lives when we reincarnate.  This spirit still remembered his past life, because he had not yet taken that final step into a new reincarnation.)

 

Spirit 1 (via Nelson):  Nelson had never experienced anything like this before.  Most of the spirits he passed wanted to speak after they had transitioned back to the spirit world, and this was a spirit who wanted to speak before he transitioned into the material world.  Nelson heard the spirit say, "If my mom is not here, can I at least speak to grandma (Eva)?  To tell her that those prayers she said did reach me?"  The quiet spirit arrived tearfully through Nelson to share more:

Spirit: I'm afraid because I know who I am, and what I have done.  When you know who you are, and can admit what you have done, that's the point when you have to go back. 

(Eva counseled the spirit in Spanish, promising him that he would be in a place of love, and that his past was not important, only his future.) 

Spirit: But my past is holding me back.  They brought me here to give me courage.  I am a frightened soldier.

Marisol:  Soon, you will forget that past.

Spirit: But it's so hard not to be scared.

Eva:  That's why we are here with you now.  To reassure you that you can amend the past.

Spirit: He (the brother already born) keeps calling me, but I keep waiting to decide.  What do I say to my group, the ones I will leave behind?  They told me that I have to leave everything behind.

Marisol:  Yes, but this will be a new opportunity for you.

Spirit: It's difficult.  They tell me that it's a new chapter for everyone.  I came here to finish a process.  (to Eva)  And you promise to be my grandma?

Eva:  Of course I will - with a lot of love.

Spirit: Don't forget that you told me that - it will make my mission less difficult.

Eva:  I won't forget.  I want your path to be an easy one.

Spirit: They are already showing me a marvelous world.  Thank you, I haven't earned any of this, but they tell me I need it to be humble.  It's hard to say goodbye, but this is an amazing welcome.  (very emotional and speaking directly to Eva)  Thank you for that promise...until we are finally able to touch our hands together...

 

Nelson advised that the prayer for the newborn to a specific mother be said.  Marisol had been studying a spirit for herself, and this spirit was very angry with Nelson for passing the previous spirit. 

 

Spirit 2 (via Marisol):  The spirit wanted to stop Marisol and Nelson from working today (Nelson had a sore throat, and Marisol's car wouldn't start).  The frustrated spirit arrived through Marisol, angrily pounding on the table with his fists:

Spirit:  Meddling children!  Well, well, well.  I got rid of her husband, he is not currently in the house (Marisol's husband was in Florida).  Well, well, well.  She didn't see me!  (to Nelson)  I don't like you, I could hide from her, but you saw me!  It doesn't matter, because I am going to create even more distractions!

Nelson:  It's time for you to realize a different energy.

Spirit:  I have tried everything to knock back the two of you!  If he (his superior) hears me talking to you, he will take all my powers.  We are your enemy.  (pause)  I am burning, it is hot in here.  Is it because I failed? 

Nelson:  Listen to that guide and hear this word: Love. 

Spirit (angry, and banging on the table again):  I hate love!  It's stupid!  And I am tired of her (Marisol), and that husband, the kid, her job - she is the leader wherever she goes!  That's why her job is not going well, I had to do it.  Love caused my failure, and there is no peace for me.

Nelson:  Look at those flowers you are receiving.  Their peaceful scent is wonderful.

Spirit: So what do we do now?  There are 113 of us here.

Nelson:  You will be taken to a place to study love, and learn more about it.

Spirit: Now we want to leave - to study that new power which we know nothing about.  I will create order, and then we will go...

 

Spirit 3 (via Carmen):  Carmen's daughter and infant grandson visited her a few days ago, and the grandson gave her a look that seemed to say, "Protect me."  Nelson understood that there was the spirit of another baby around Carmen's grandson, and he had been abandoned multiple times in past existences. The spirit was causing her grandson to panic by telling him that he would be also be abandoned in this lifetime.  The spirit arrived to speak through Carmen.  (Note:  Kardec answered the question of how a baby could speak as an adult spirit in question 35 of The Mediums Book - "The soul of an infant is a spirit confined in the swaddling-clothes of matter; but when disengaged from matter, he regains the use of his faculties as a spirit, for age has no existence for spirits. The fact that the spirit of an infant can answer you like that of an adult proves that he has lived before.")

Spirit (sadly):  If you only knew how much I have suffered.  I was abandoned, never cared for, and I got left in a corner.  I was bitten by ants.

Nelson:  It won't happen again, so there is no reason to cause panic for him.  He is an innocent baby.

Spirit: So was I - and I was left to be eaten by worms and birds.

Nelson:  I need a convergence between you and him now.  What happened to you was in another lifetime, and your experience will not be his experience.

Spirit: Then I am done protecting him.  We are leaving (six spirits) and he is on his own...

 

Spirits 4 & 5 (via Nelson):  Eva asked Emiliano about his return to work last week.  He said that Monday and Tuesday were fine, but on Wednesday he experienced a lot of pain.  If he left his job, he would not be paid, so he stayed.  Thursday and Friday were normal, but he still had some pain in one finger. Nelson's guide arrived, and he advised Emiliano to continue his "material world" hand therapy, until he felt he was back at 100%.  Caballito then turned his attention to Isaac:

Caballito:  What is it about this (spiritism) that you like?

Isaac: It interests me.

Caballito:  There is a (spiritual) friend here who does not like that idea.  Understand that the spirits are always watching over what you do, and some of them do not like what they see.  You are looking for some peace and happiness, and this friend doesn't want that for you.

(Caballito was replaced by an irate spirit who wanted to entice Isaac away from our table) 

Spirit (to Isaac):  We should be outside - having a party!  What the hell!  Look at this bunch of old, crappy people.  Why are you here?  Come with me!  Wake up!  What is wrong with you?  Why are you here?

Jeff: He has the free will to be here.

Spirit:  And who are you - God?  (looking at Xaver)  If it wasn't for you, he wouldn't be here.  I put doubt in his mind, and I am only here because I followed him.  (to Sonia)  And that other one, over there?  I hate that hag!  She loves him, and nobody ever loved me.  (to Isaac)  C'mon, get up.  We are going to leave.

Marisol: And that's what you put in his mind, that he is not loved.  But he is loved.

Spirit: I am the only one who loves him.  He does what I say. Do you know how many 'things' we could be doing right now?  (laughing)

Marisol:  You cannot do those things, because you do not have a body...

Spirit:  ...Then how the hell am I talking?

Marisol:  Look at that body, the one you are speaking from.  Tell me, does it look young?

Spirit (long pause):  I don't like any of you!  It's a body, but it is not mine.

Marisol: Because you're a spirit.

Spirit:  I tried and tried!  He didn't listen!  (to Isaac)  Do you like it here?  Do you want to stay?
Isaac: Yes.

Spirit (to Sonia):  Why do you have your nose where it doesn't belong?

Sonia:  This is good for him.  He will have peace and happiness without you.  Listen to that friend with you.

Spirit: I'll leave him alone, but only because he doesn't want me around.  Love?  Love is overrated.  I'm sorry, but love does not exist.  We survive, that's all we know.  I don't like love - it makes you weak! 

Denise: Love makes you strong, not weak.

Spirit: Where I come from there is only hate.  Survival!  You have to fight.  Survival is all I know.  (to Isaac)  I am leaving you.  Be aware that love is not that easy.  I don't want any fricking love - or peace!  I'm going.  It can't be any worse than where I came from...

Sonia: Love and light for your soul.

 

Spirit 6 (via Marisol):  Marisol sensed a stomach issue for Milagros, but she insisted that everything was fine.  Marisol asked Milagros if she wanted her life to end, or if she wanted to be free from her illnesses and from always being tired.  Milagros admitted that she could not eat, and that she felt hot in her home.  An intense spirit arrived for her, and the conversation continued:
Spirit: I want to light her on fire - BURN!  She is the ugly ducking.  It doesn't matter how much makeup she puts on her face, nobody wants to deal with her.

Milagros:  I do so much for my family, and they never say thank you.

Spirit: That's how we strike her, with them.  There's a poison there - it's hate.  Ask her what she has really done for them.  She should burn!  No man will look at her, I get rid of them all.  What a low self-esteem she has for herself!  Why should I leave her alone?

Nelson: Because you are wasting your time - and hers. 

Spirit:  Really?  She left me alone and took everything I had.  So now she has to pay.  She goes dancing with her friends, and nobody looks at her - or ever asks her to dance!  (Milagros agreed) 

Nelson:  Look at yourself - instead of at her.  You are not that (material world) man anymore.  She has already had a rough life, and she is asking your forgiveness for the past.

Spirit:  Maybe I overcharged her for all her faults.  But I hate her mother, too.  She's so ignorant.

Nelson:  So leave both of them.  And take that (spiritual) wheelchair you left over there.

Spirit:  Okay, I'll go somewhere else.  I don't know where....

 

Nelson was shown that there was a physical wheelchair in the home of Milagros, and she said that it must be hidden, as she had never seen it.  Eva asked why Milagros was attending churches and other places.  Eva told her, "If you cannot find what you are looking for here, you will not find it anywhere else."  Milagros admitted that there was a wheelchair in her home, and Nelson advised her not to sit in it - even as a joke. 

 

Spirit 7 (via Carmen):  A new spirit arrived through Carmen, and it was related to her husband (Bernardo).  He often called spirits to their home with his thoughts, but when they arrived, Bernardo had no idea what to do with them.  The spirit spoke in a hushed, soft voice:

Spirit:  I want you to hide me.  I don't know why they are looking for me, but I know they will kill me.  There are two of them, and they are looking for me. 

Nelson: What did you do to them?

Spirit: I stole something.

Nelson:  What if we bring them over here to talk about it?
Spirit: They will kill me with a knife.  He (Bernardo) cannot protect me.  (scared)  They are showing me the knife!  (sobbing)  Don't kill me with that knife!  (pause)  They are telling me that I am already dead, so they cannot kill me.  I am tired of running.  They will give me the knife, and not kill me with it.

 

Nelson explained that three spirits were removed (the one who was running and the two who were chasing).  In a previous life, the frightened spirit was killed by the other two, under direct orders from Bernardo.

 

Spirit 8 (via Marisol):  Marisol had two brief spiritual messages:

(for Jeff):  His mother lived alone, and she should not be living alone anymore.  There was an urgent message that other options should be explored - and soon.  Jeff understood.

 

(for Juanita):  She should not be surprised by human actions.  Some things that were previously told to her were now happening, and she should not be sad.  Juanita was advised to look to her future, as the past was over, and she should not dwell on it.  When Juanita thinks about the past, it makes her sad and ruins her entire week - and she can change that, just by changing her thoughts. If possible, she should read a prayer.

Juanita: I fall asleep whenever I read those prayers.

Nelson: Try picking a time, just once a week, and read for only 15 minutes.  Once a week, for 15 minutes on the same day and at the same time every week.  (Juanita agreed)

Marisol: Sonia, would you give some passes to Juanita before we close the session?  (Sonia agreed)

 

Nelson asked Jose about the results from his doctor.  His blood sugar was elevated, and Nelson was shown that his response was to ignore it.  Nelson advised him that by ignoring the issue, Jose was playing with his  life.  He remained silent as the discussion continued, with Janet speaking for her husband.  Nelson said that his blood sugar issue was a material world problem, and Jose needed to treat it.  Marisol tried to explain the significance of food choices, but Jose was unwilling to accept her examples.  The conversation seemed to be going in circles, until Caballito returned:

Caballito:  Humans are so difficult!  It is not a sign of weakness when you ask for help.  Changing does not mean that you are giving up something, or that you are less.  (to Jose)  I asked Nelson to help you for no other reason.  You have your free will, just as he (Nelson) does.  (laughing)  But sometimes, I take over, because I have to do my work.  Sonia, I want to ask you something that might cut a little deep into you.  Do you feel capable of doing what Marisol asked (the passes for Juanita)?

Sonia:  Yes, I think I do.

Caballito: Then why were you shocked when you were asked?

Sonia:  My mind was somewhere else.  I was in another state.  I didn't know where I was.  Once I was prepared, they showed me the way.

Caballito:  Do all of you understand that when we are here, we are not alone?  Sometimes those friends who are around us are not that friendly.  (to Sonia)  I wasn't asking you that question (about the passes), I was asking that friend who is with you.  Are you aware of that friend?

Sonia:  Yes and no.  I feel the energy, but it's confusing.

Caballito:  That's where I wanted to go.  It's confusing because it is not the correct energy.  Do not give your time and effort to that one.  There are those around whom test you.

Marisol:  Learn to discern. 

Caballito:  Yes.  She is not at a point yet where she can distinguish one from another, so I want to work with her.  When you feel that, say no - and be strong about it.  Say, 'No, that is not why I am here.'  You can educate that friend.  It's part of your growing, and part of becoming who you will become.  Educate your guides, as that friend was not the correct one.  I was not going to allow that friend to do that (the passes).  When you are in a state of confusion, instead of doing good, it can harm.  Jeff, I would like to ask if you can prepare a class - not for this Wednesday, but the next one - on how to work with the guides?  (Jeff agreed)  Sonia will not be giving passes today.  I will ask the one who requested it (Marisol) to do it.  Sonia asked for guidance today, and that is why I am here.  Are there any questions for me?  (there were none)

 

There was silence as Marisol gave the passes to Juanita.  When she returned to her seat, Caballito clasped her hands with his, to connect her spirit guide with him.  Marisol's guide hoped to work more, in the same manner as today.  Eva asked for passes, and Nelson administered them.  Caballito explained that he would take some additional spirits away with him, as there would not be time for them to speak.  It was a group of 82 soldiers.  When Jeff was assisting Marisol during the passes for Juanita, a group of 12 spirit dwarves were removed from Juanita and transferred over to Jeff.  Caballito would also take that group away.

Chicago - July 17, 2016

In attendance:
Bernardo, Carmen, Denise, Emiliano, Erika, Esperanza, Eva, Gabe, Isabel, Juan, Juanita, Jeff, Maricela, Marietta, Marisol, Mimi, Nelson, Noemi, Sonia, and Xavier 

 

Spirit 1 (via Nelson):  Nelson's guide delivered a brief message regarding the direction for this session: 

Caballito:  We live in difficult times, and things not going to get any better.  The 'enemies of the good' are winning too many times.  Many of us are not living correctly.  We like to look outside of ourselves, when we should be looking inside.

 

Marisol read the prayer for the sick, and Nelson read the prayer for our enemies and those who wish us harm.  With tears in his eyes, Emiliano shared that he was returning to work on Monday, and he was uncertain over how to act around his coworker.  He asked, "What should I do when I see that person who was responsible for my accident?  Be friendly?  Ignore him?"  Caballito responded that Emiliano should hold his head up high, and be the bigger person.  It was important to forgive the coworker, as his intentions may have come from spite, but there were also some spiritual forces at work.

 

Spirit 2 (via Marisol):  Marisol asked Nelson when he last spoke with his mother (about a month ago), as Marisol was seeing her short of breath, and fearful that she would die. Nelson's mother was sensing spiritual things, but she was perceiving those issues as if they were material world issues.  Marisol described Nelson as the "black sheep" of his family (and he agreed).   She added that whatever Nelson did to help his family, it was never enough, and Nelson explained that he was okay with things being that way, as he had reached an understanding with all of them.  The spirit of a male child from a previous life between Nelson and his mother was present.  The boy insisted that Nelson's mother had "damaged" him, and now he was determined to make Nelson "pay for those sins."  Nelson stood up and moved away, as the spirit sat through Marisol:

Spirit (pounding the table with frustration and anger): Devil!  Get OVER HERE!  You and I are going to reach an agreement today!  It's you or me!

Nelson:  You and I are friends.  In that life you remember, we may have been enemies, but now we are friends.  She (the mother) and I already have peace.  We just need you. 

(Nelson explained that in a previous life, he and this spirit were brothers born to his current mother)

Spirit (laughing and drumming on the table): You can reach an agreement, but is the love really there? Ha!

Nelson:  We have learned.  We each do our share.

Spirit: I am going to stay there, even if it hurts her.  She should already go, and be with me!

Nelson:  She can't go yet.  Don't you want to be my friend?  Like a brother?

Spirit:  No.  I will keep hating you.

Nelson: Don't waste your existence fighting with me.

Spirit (fanning his face rapidly):  Calor!  It's hot in here!  Turn on the fan!

Nelson: That heat is from your anger.

Spirit:  So where is that love?  I am not loved.  If that love is real, how can I leave without experiencing it?  They are promising me things I cannot see, but I will talk to them instead of to you.  There was never any love for me.  I was in charge of her seeing you as the ugly duckling of the family - so you would feel what it was like to be rejected by a mother.  Her love comes with conditions.

Nelson: I understand.  But that's about her - not you.

Spirit:  I will go.  I cannot give you what I don't have (love), so they (the spirit guides) will take me somewhere to learn it.  There are some knots in my nature. 

Nelson:  When you experience that love, come back and find me again.

Spirit: I have no idea what love is like.  Goodbye.

 

Nelson told the group that love was not mandatory in any family.  Individuals sent here as a family only needed to get along and take care of each other.  Nelson next asked Marietta is she had any children, and she said that she and her husband had decided against it.  Nelson sensed the spirit of a little boy around her.  "We may have promised something in the spirit world," Nelson said, "and then when we change those plans, we need to let them know - so they understand the reasoning.  Reach an agreement to be friends, even though you and that spirit may be in separate worlds.  That spirit needs to know that your decision had nothing to do with him.  They will listen if you communicate with them.  If there is any way that I can help you, let me know."

 

Juanita said that she was unable to breathe normally, and Sonia said her head ached during the prayer for the sick.  A spirit was present during the prayer, and he wanted to speak through Sonia.  The spirit had died from a shot in the head, which was causing Sonia's headache.  Sonia understood, and she said that she thought it would be better to wait until one spirit passed before she passed another one.  Nelson said it was fine to pass more than one spirit at the same time.  Maricela said that her breathing was also irregular.

 

Spirit 3 (via Carmen):  Carmen said that yesterday was a bad day for her.  She experienced horrible smells, and she thought they might be related to a dream she had about her deceased brother.  In the dream, she wanted to help her brother, but their two energies were not compatible.  The brother was eventually transported to a hospital, and Carmen's father was present.  Nelson explained that when Carmen's family talked about her, Carmen's father showed up to defend her.  The conversation continued:

Caballito:  Why are you dealing with this?  With them?  We always think that nothing will happen to us, but when spirits leave at a young age (like the brother), sometimes they want to return - and they cannot.  They want to return to fix or amend the things they left behind.

Carmen:  The brother who passed is making another family member sick.

Caballito:  With your brother, how he transitioned was what he deserved.  He still believes that he can come back, and he thinks that you can help him.  You need to shield yourself.  You are able to help him with prayers, but he needs to move on and realize that he does not belong - and he cannot return - to the material world that he left behind. 

(Carmen's spirit guide arrived through her to add more insight)

Spirit:  She is so smart, always meddling!  She should not be looking there.  The brother's family does not like or respect her.  They call her a witch - until they remember that she can help them.  There is an upcoming trip to New Jersey, and that is not going to happen.  She has a nice path ahead of her, but she needs to learn how to navigate it.  I'll be here to help.

 

Spirits 4 & 5 (via Marisol):  Marisol had a message from her spirit guide for Gabe, and it was similar to the other messages he has been receiving every week.  From a professional and academic point of view, Gabe needed to decide what to do - and just do it.  He was told to "poop or get off the pot," as he is not progressing at all, he was regressing or backsliding.  His inability to make any choices was becoming a problem.  (Note: Gabe normally translates the Spanish spirits for me, but he was asked to listen to his message instead.)  An angry spirit sat through Marisol to address Gabe directly, and he thought that Gabe had taken something from him.  Nelson wanted to know what Gabe was waiting for to act on the messages he had been given.  A total of five spirits were removed.  As the spirits moved on, Marisol's guide returned to add more to her message for Gabe.

 

Caballito returned through Nelson, and he wanted to know how Isabel was feeling.  She said her legs were in pain, and she had considered skipping the session.  She explained her medications, and her thoughts on why the leg pains kept recurring...

Caballito:  Why do you feel responsible for everything that happens to Ron (her husband)?  There are reasons for everything

Isabel:  As his wife, I feel obligated.

Caballito:  He is 68 years old, yet you treat him as if he was five.

Noemi:  He is your husband, not a child.

Isabel:  I'm afraid of being alone.

Caballito:  Who would be responsible if died, and you were left alone?

Isabel:  I couldn't deal with that.

Caballito:  Do you ever take walks by yourself?  (No)  You can run your life, but you cannot run his. 

 

Spirit 6 (via Nelson):  Nelson was shown a funeral wake in Isabel's house, with a beautiful gold coffin.  Nelson was not able to see who was in the coffin, but he saw Isabel and Ron arguing over who would die and go into the coffin first.  Behind the coffin, there was a strange spirit, as the spirit kept shifting shapes.  He was a clown, but he was not dressed that way:

Noemi:  He transforms himself to make fun of them.

Nelson:  Yes.  He plays with them, making the temperatures hot and cold (Isabel agreed), and becoming tall, then short.  He wants them to be on a staircase, and he will trip Ron and have him fall on Isabel.  He's looking for the perfect timing for both of them to die together.

(This spirit was running in circles, and he agreed to sit through Nelson)

Spirit:  I am angry at her.  She thinks she can do it all!  Now she can't even walk (laughing).  I didn't want her to come here today, because I didn't want to be here.  I need to finish my work.  It's not good or bad work, it's just my job.  I will finish her first, so the other one will be easy.

 

Marisol counseled the spirit.  At one point, Isabel asked about a relative, and the spirit began to laugh, telling her, "Everything you touch?  I want to destroy it!"  Isabel began to cry, because she believed that everyone in her family would die.  Marisol calmed Isabel, while she patiently told the spirit that his task was not possible, as he was a spirit without a body:

Spirit: If I leave, I cannot finish my job.  That's a problem.  You see her there, small and cute?  She is not.  She has asked for forgiveness so many times, I wonder if she means it.  Let me ask you people something - who picked me us and brought me here?  I see him now, picking up my funeral items.  He is telling me to take all of those things and leave.  I had a crazy circus, but we will go - all 14 of us.  I had one in every corner.  Causing pain, heat, cold, confusion - something for everyone.  Her house will be more peaceful now.

 

Caballito (replacing the spirit and speaking to Isabel):  I need a balance in your home.   Explain that idea to Ron.  Those friends will not be welcome in a home filled with love and respect.  Establish that balance. 

(Jeff was asked to bring Emiliano to the table.  Caballito tightly rolled a towel)

Caballito:  You thought your hand wouldn't work again.  How is it now?  (It was good)  You need to strengthen your faith.  Sometimes, our faith is lowered, and we need to assure that it does not fall.  I need you to use that hand, and grab this side (of the towel) as strong as you can (Caballito held the other end, pulling it firmly).  Transfer that pain to me, so tomorrow you will feel even better.  What he's giving me is fire.  Anger.  Some things are better done than said.  There is only respect and love here, and there is no reason for him to offend anyone.  (to Emiliano)  Finish your therapy treatments, and I am taking care of the spiritual side.  Finish the material work, and you will be back 100%.  The spiritual job is done.

 

Spirit 7 (via Sonia):  As Jeff was leading Emiliano back to his seat, Sonia's spirit guide arrived to assist:

Spirit:  We are passing him that energy!  I am sending you mine as well.  The work has already started - Amen, amen, amen!

 

Isabel stepped forward, so that Caballito could work on her legs.  "Let's eliminate all of those things that those friends left behind," he said.  A different towel was folded, and Caballito passed it across the front and back of her legs.  Isabel was asked to bend both legs at the knee, and she was able to do it easily. 

 

Marietta moved forward next:

Caballito:  I know you came here looking for some answers.  I hope you understand that one session is not enough.  You were welcomed here today, and you will get your answers.  Before I can answer, I just need a little bit of faith.  Today, he (Nelson) did not want me to talk to you.  (Note:  Nelson explained later in the car that he was apprehensive over Marietta being frightened away and less likely to return to our group.)  When he (Nelson) is here, he is just a worker.  Today I did not ask him to let me sit.  I just came in.  Humans always want control.  Little by little, you (Marietta) will get your answers.  I will give you a preview, so that you will return:  'You had nothing to do with it.  Decisions were already made, and you were just a consequence of what happened.  Do you understand?  (She did)  Your life is finally going to be yours.  Today is the beginning of a new life for you!  Grab it, and it will be great.

 

Denise said she smelled something burning when Caballito was working with Emiliano, and Nelson explained that it was only the transference of the heat/anger involved.  Nelson closed with a prayer.

Chicago - July 14, 2016

In attendance:  Carmencita, Denise, Gabe, Jeff, Jose, Marisol, Mimi, Nelson and Sonia 

 

After the opening prayer, Carmencita read two additional prayers.  One was for the Enemies of Spiritism, and the other was for the Protectors/Guides of Spiritism.  During the prayers, Marisol heard taunting spirits who were singing about Carmencita not knowing anything.  Nelson said that Carmencita's group may be blocked in Puerto Rico, but not at our table.  We had a group of spirits who were present, and they were the ones who were blocked, as they were tied up in an effort to restrain their outbursts.

 

Spirit 1 (via Nelson):  The leader of the group was frustrated and angry, as he knew his mission had failed, and now he would face some form of justice.  Nelson described his appearance as very rigid and he presented himself as over six feet tall.  His energy was a new experience for Nelson:

Spirit (very intense and in charge):  This is not the morale I normally see.  When I arrive, everyone stands up.  But now I am tied, restrained by those who I call my enemy.  I have lost that power because I failed - by not completing what I needed to accomplish.  It was not easy for us to be removed.  We came upon orders from another one - not the one I followed.  Where can I go now, after failing at my other job?  I promised him this job, and now I am suffering by giving you this message.  They have given me this opportunity to come here and express something that I never thought would happen.  We were so close.  Anything I said to that friend, it went against my will.  When we fail, we are removed.  How difficult it is to accept defeat!  I never thought it would happen.  (to Marisol)  Meddling kid!  Many times you meddled in things when you should not!  You call what we do darkness, but we call it the earth that no one sees. 

 

Spirit (noticing Carmencita):  Tell your friend that we have been complicating her life.  Yes, I know she is here.  (directly to Carmencita)  Many times we have tried removing you!  You were the last pebble in our way.  So many things were said to push you away!  You were the last rock, and if we removed you, we would have won.  We wanted to put a sign on that place: 'Closed Forever!'  I would have won a lot, but I lost the battle.  (pause)  Your guides are doing something.  They are not really my enemies, just another group pushing us away.  When you work with them, you diminish our group.  Beware, as we have more waiting.  If you give them the opportunity, they will be here.  I know I am lecturing, but be careful.  I will now have a new purpose.  Some 'friends' as you call them, are not really friends - they are your enemy.  I know it is time for me to go, along with my group.  It will be me and my twelve apostles.  From now on, it's your temple.  I only ask forgiveness because I failed.  They (the good spirit guides) tell me that we will be welcomed, but we are not so sure.  I go with a deepness in my heart.

 

As the spirit was removed, Nelson sprang from his chair in an alarmed state.  The spirit's strong energy and powerful presence was exhausting.  Storm clouds bellowed outside, as if to indicate the departure of the spirit and his apostles.  Nelson cautioned Noemi to be cautious when attending sessions at other centers in Puerto Rico, as the spirits who left saw nothing wrong with what they were doing.  Nelson encouraged Noemi to visit other centers, but to make sure that she was protected.  For Carmencita's center, Nelson recommended an educational class for the mediums.  As negative spirits become more familiar with any medium (and they way they work), it became easier to trick them.  Nelson also suggested that the various directors and mediums of Carmencita's center be referred to as "Doctors of Spiritism."  There was a need of new, clean energy in that center, and those small changes will have an impact. 

 

Spirit 2 (via Nelson):  There was more to the message, but Nelson was apprehensive over how to edit the communication to make it less direct.  To avoid confusion, Nelson's spirit guide decided to speak directly through Nelson to the group:

Caballito:  I do not want him to edit any more.  I want to say what I need to say.  (to Carmencita)  In Nelson, you have found a friend that you can use for the difficult jobs.  A messenger, or ambassador.  Everyone wonders why he is always traveling - going to Argentina or Puerto Rico - why does he do it?  We use him that way, it's his duty.  Once he helps us open the door with his personality, we come in and do the necessary work.  Sometimes, even he is surprised.  And he worries, because he does not want anyone to see him differently.  (laughing)  Sometimes he lacks humility.  (to Jeff)  Isn't he always asking, 'How do I look?'  (table laughs)  But he tries to be humble. 

 

Caballito (to Carmencita):  Thank you for letting me work.  This work is common, but it is very difficult.  It was very hard to persuade them.  What gives those friends so much power?  They all have their own sweetness, until they gain control, and they later show how they really are, and it's too late to remove them once they are in place.  Do not let that happen anywhere.  Pray for those who can help you.  It's a very long journey (our many lifetimes), but at the end, if you could only see what you receive!  It is peace and love at a higher level that you cannot comprehend now.  After you depart, we will take those friends from today and convince them of a new light.  Your actions determine which light you move towards.  I am not too far, so use your mind to call me, and you will hear me - if you are prepared to hear me...

 

Nelson's guide left him refreshed, and the loud thunderstorm outside had ceased.  Sonia shared a vision she experienced of a deformed hand being extended to Carmencita.  Nelson said that others might see the hand as beautiful, instead of realizing the true intent.  Nelson continued, "When we leave our body, more than one hand shows up, and we have to choose the correct hand."
