Chicago - February 19, 2017

In attendance:
Bernardo, Carmen, Danny, Denise, Don Juan, Emiliano, Esperanza, Eva, Frank, Gabe, Isabel, Isaac, Janet, Jeff, Jose, Juanita, Maricela, Milagros, Nelson, Ron, Sonia, and X

 

In the car on the way to the session, Nelson sensed that the Romero family would be attending, and he hoped that Erika was with them - as he was experiencing something that was around her all week.  Before the opening prayer, Nelson had a direct message for her: 

Nelson: Don't wait until the bucket is full to return here.  If you do, it may be too late.  Erika has made a spiritual compromise with some spirits, and now they are knocking on her door, and she is not answering.  They are asking for her. Physically, she is not well.  Where is she today?

Esperanza: At a birthday party.

Nelson: She thinks that sending mom and dad to represent her is okay, but soon that bucket of water will be too heavy for anyone to lift.  Everyone here needs to understand that spiritism is serious - this is not a game.  How sad that something so beautiful - that gives us so much - and we are too busy with parties to find the time for it. 

Esperanza: She is very sleepy.

Nelson: Maybe this is the message she needs to wake up.

 

Spirit 1 (via Nelson):  After the opening prayer, the discussion regarding Erika continued in Spanish with her family.  Erika's liver is still not functioning, and she spends her days in a dream state.  Spiritually, Nelson saw Erika in a barrel.  Water was being poured over her, and the message was that she needs to get out of the barrel or drown.  A spirit who was about 21 years old told Nelson, "She is not escaping this time..."

Spirit (very machismo): I'm with this guy (Nelson) to talk?  If I could only hit him instead!  Why is he looking after my business?  (Carmen counseled the spirit)  I don't know him, so why he is meddling with me?  She's mine, and I am taking her with me.  I keep her quiet, so she only speaks with me - and to nobody else. She cannot get out of that barrel.  I'm going to get in that barrel with her, put the lid on it, and we will be together forever.

Carmen:  That water in the barrel is contaminated. 

Spirit: I don't care if I get sick because we will be in there together. Tell him (Nelson) not to talk to her.  Can I pay you to kick his butt?  She's mine!  She has not suffered anything - just wait until I am with her!  (pause, while the spirit listened to the spirit guide)  This guy also wants me to leave her?  He should not waste his time, I am not letting her go.  He's showing me a new girl, but is not her.  (to Carmen)  I will pay you to kick his butt, too.  Now he's telling me that if I let her out of the barrel, she will talk.  (pause)  That's a rotten barrel, with stinky water.  She can get herself out.  What now?  (to the guide)  Do I go with you, sir?  Tell her not to forget me.  When they forget, we get mad. 

Carmen: You will become a light spirit.

Spirit: What is light?  Either way, I'm convinced.  Don't put all the blame on me, we were four.

 

Nelson said his entire body hurt, especially his hands.  He had to stand and stretch.  He thought that Erika was suffering something similar - with no strength, her body in pain, and that it was even painful to speak.  He also sensed horrific back pains. 

 

Spirit 2 (via Sonia):  As Nelson was speaking, a new spirit quietly slipped into Sonia.  This spirit was also connected to Erika:

Spirit: We are together.  She has no energy, so I cannot leave her.  We are connected, material to material, and I want her to become an invalid - like a mummy.  (Nelson counseled the spirit)  I don't want to leave her, because we have been together for such along time.  (pause)  I cannot leave her.  How will I survive without her? 

Nelson:  Let's do a prayer together - for you and for her.  For the souls of both spirits.

Spirit (tearfully and fearful):  Okay, I will give you my hands if you are sure.  Tell her I am sorry.  Tell her I said goodbye...

 

The melancholy spirit faded away, and Nelson spoke briefly with Juanita (with some additional comments from Maricela).  Nelson asked X how his week was, and he said it was good.

 

Spirit 3 (via Carmen):  Carmen was studying a spirit that was showing himself as a flash of light.  The spirit was studying Bernardo's X-rays, and the X-ray was all white - showing that Bernardo had nothing inside of him.  The spirit began to mock Bernardo, laughing at him because he was empty inside.  "The X-rays indicate that you are dead," the spirit said, "So it will be very easy for me to move in and replace you."  The conversation continued:

Spirit (speaking quietly, but with confidence):  What do I want?  I want him to disappear.  She (Carmen) needs to be alone.  She noticed my intentions.  And sometimes we (the spirits) say things without thinking.

Nelson: You did not think there would others around who could hear you.  That body, the one you think you have?  It is not there anymore.

Spirit: At first, she (Carmen) liked me.  And then, she realized I was dead.  (sadly)  I didn't want to come here today.  I want to reexamine those X-rays.  They need to show something.  I know the white X-ray means he is dead, but I don't think that things will now go as planned.  He will be okay.  Do I really need to go? 

Nelson:  Yes.  I will take care of her.  How many of you are there?

Spirit: We are four.  Tell her not to be scared (of Bernardo's upcoming surgery).  I will leave her at peace, because we are really five - with me.  I am going to leave her feeling young.

 

Spirit 4 (via Nelson):  Nelson turned his attention to Janet's husband (Jose).  Although he had five jobs, it seemed that his pockets were always empty.  No matter what he did, there never seemed to be enough money.  An irate spirit from this lifetime arrived to confront Jose:

Spirit (rocking in her seat): Where does all the money go?  To another woman?  I'm angry, very angry.

Jeff: Tell us about it, we are here to listen.

Spirit: He can have 20 jobs and it will never be enough!  (slyly)  At his age, he should not be 'working' so much.  Don't kill yourself with work, because you will never have a dime.  What he took from me will never be repaid!  You must pay for what you have done.   I am angry because everyone says I don't exist, but I AM REAL!  (looked at Carmen)  I know you saw me, and you don't like me, and it's okay. I don't want him (Jose) to be happy, but I have no issues with you (Carmen) or with her (Janet). 

Jeff: Did he do something to harm you?
Spirit: He denies me!  Denies I exist!  He has done many things, but the one that hurts the most is that I am real.  Do not deny me, because then I will become really angry!  Who I am, what we did, I despise him.

Jeff: Maybe it was in another time, or another place.  What was your last memory?

Spirit: I have no story.  We need to leave that door closed.  I will only say that he betrayed me.  It was not a different time in the past, but some things are better left unsaid. 

Jeff: Can you forgive him for what he did?  Let's concentrate on you...

Spirit (irate): Don't ask me to forgive him.  Maybe I would if he didn't deny that I existed.  (turned to face the spirit guide)  I apologize for my anger, and I will take it with me.  I want to feel loved again. (to Jose)  Put whatever you want in your pockets, you can fill them up!  But you will never, ever have anything.

 

The spirit gasped deeply and left.  Nelson explained later that the spirit guides had to forcefully remove her.  She was a difficult spirit who wanted revenge. 

 

Spirit 5 (via Nelson):  Caballito arrived to offer Janet some advice:

Caballito:  Sometimes your relationship with him is not what everyone thinks.  Don't let things build up inside of you.  If you have to cry - then cry.  Let it out.  The more you hold in, the more you harm yourself.  Let. It. Go.  Cry, you can even yell if you need it.  Do it, and you will liberate yourself.  A flower that is loved and cared for needs nothing else.  When we find love, sometimes we do not appreciate it.  Sometimes it is difficult to let things go, but it is not really so difficult if you look inside yourself.  Look deep inside yourself, and you will find it.  You will find what you are looking for.  Do you understand?

Janet: I'm kind of confused.  When you say look inside for the answer...

Caballito: Look inside yourself and fix the things you do not like.  (to the group)  She's smart, a bright woman.  But sometimes her emotions overtake her.

 

Caballito scanned the room and said, "I have so many things to do."  He had some specific messages:

(for Danny):  Did you find your home a little more peaceful this week?

Danny: I guess so.

Caballito: What else can we do to improve on that? 

Danny: I wouldn't know.

Caballito:  How about communication?  Talking is not the thing, understanding is what is needed.  Why do you think they don't understand you?

Danny:  They can't relate to my situation.

Caballito:  Maybe what they do not understand is that you are in your situation because you are only concentrating on yourself.  You have forgotten to say to them, 'What can I do to help you?'  It's not about one person, it's about the whole group.  Speak to them in kind words, not in anger.  I know your language, but I do not understand your feelings.  Appreciate that you are healthy.

Jeff: Look at Frank - he has to wake up each morning and test his oxygen level.  Would you rather be him?

Caballito: Wake up and say that you will be better - not that you don't have a job.  There are real problems - just look around! - and you are worried about things that are not important.  You have a bright future, so let go of the small things.  Think positive, and you will attract (positive spiritual) friends like me. 

 

I have come in very philosophical today, haven't I?  Juanita, when you leave today, you will feel better than when you came in.  Do not worry about what you cannot change.  Continue your path, and you will continue to get better.

(for Eva): I know you are strong, but you hide some feelings.  You are missing things back home (in Puerto Rico), but you will soon be back there.

Eva: I'm leaving on March 7.  I am already thinking about what I am going to find.

Caballito: Everything will be okay.  I know this because a friend of ours (Eva's father) told me to tell you that message.  There is a necessity for your daughter to be more spiritual.  Remind her of it - every day.

 

Carmen - Go slow.  Do not worry so much.  Jeff, keep pushing this one (Nelson).  Last night was very rough for him (with spirits keeping him awake), and he was also very concerned with his family.  He wonders how people who grew up with spiritism can act the way that they do.  He asked me what he could do, as he was very concerned.  He doesn't like it, and he wanted me to fix it.  I told him nothing.  He should do nothing. 

 

Are there any comments?  Questions?

Janet: I'm concerned with my daughter-in-law in Florida.  She was raised differently, so she doesn't ask for help.  But I wanted to see what I could do for her.

Caballito:  They are in a turmoil, a big tornado.  I will send some messengers to see what we can do to alleviate the situation.  When you think about it this week, don't think about it.  Do some prayers instead.  (pause)  Ohhh.  I see what is going on.  I see your concern.  I was not aware of it.  Let's see what we can do.  I'm sending the two messengers back to see if they can remove some of the things that are there.  (to Janet)  Pray, but don't think about it.

 

Gabe, my son, would you stand in front of me?  You have travel plans (to Puerto Rico), and you are hoping for a big party when you arrive.  A celebration!  And is it is going to be that, but not in the way you expected.  I need to get rid of some things stopping the party (18 spirits were removed).  You are going on this trip for a purpose, a reason.  I want to ask you a favor - and that favor is for yourself.  Call your grandfather and take him out.  That will be the celebration, for the both of you.  Take an afternoon and spend it with him. The others in the family might not like what I am telling you but you tell them - with your heart in your mouth - 'I want to spend time with him.  Respect my wishes.  With him, and only him.'

 

Caballito: One more. 

Jeff: As many as you like.

Caballito (sensing the apprehension in the room):  Now everyone is worried, wondering who it will be.  Sonia.  I know you were not expecting me to call on you, but I am calling on you to congratulate you.  I want to thank you.  Not only for me, but for all of us.  We thank you for your dedication and love.  And things will be okay.  I know you are worried over someone, but she's an adult.  I said, 'she,' so I have revealed who it is.  (to Danny)  It's your mother.  Pray for her, she needs your help.  Go around her, and tell her that you love and miss her.  All of us create our own paths, and hers might take longer.  But Sonia, we are not leaving you alone with that.  To thank you for keeping this place open to continue our work; when we are allowed, we try to help.  Maybe it's only lifting just one finger.  Don't worry about her, let us worry.  Maybe one day there will be a party here, and she will attend.

Jeff:  It would be great if she was at a session.

Caballito: Don't put words in my mouth, I said a party.  As usual, you are too quick.

 

(Without saying anything, Caballito pointed his finger slowly around the room three times) 

Caballito: Three times around the room, and I have 152 friends to take away.  My messenger assistants will be very busy. Thank you so much for allowing this humble worker to do his job.  I love my work, bringing life to dead flowers.  If you learn the word, 'humility,' you will all have beautiful lives.   

 

Nelson closed with a prayer.

Puerto Rico - May 24, 2017

In attendance: Alanis, Eva, Jeff, Junior, Maribel, Mirelsa, Nelson, Nydia and Rina  

 

Prior to the opening prayer, our group had a discussion about secrets.  Keeping things hidden enables the secrets to have power over our lives.  When the secrets are eventually exposed (in this lifetime or the next), they are more damaging and often unable to be reversed or corrected.  The spirit world gives us insights into our past existences, helps with our present situations, and they may make suggestions for the future.  They don't tell us what to do, as that would take away our free will, they only make recommendations.  (Note: Secrets and insights into our past and future would become the central theme for this session.)

 

Spirit 1 (via Nelson): Nelson asked Maribel about Carmen's condition.  She was still in and out of the hospital, and she still had a phobia over any male hospital workers touching her.  She had not eaten anything on Sunday or Monday.  Nelson described it as a battle.  Carmen did not like being controlled, and she understood that her life on earth was winding down.  Her mental thoughts were now concentrated on things she had done in this life, and she had some regrets - as it was too late for her to amend anything.  Nelson heard her thinking, "Where am I going?"  He advised that she needed to be kept calm.  The spirit of her father was with her, along with Norma, the spirit of Maribel's mom.  (Note: When Norma was on earth and transitioning back to the spirit world, Carmen was her human caregiver.  Now that Carmen was transitioning, Norma's spirit was there with her, offering comfort and reassurance.)  Nelson saw that Carmen's birthday would be celebrated soon (she will be 95 on May 31), and he wondered if that celebration would be held on earth or in the spirit world.

 

There were two groups of spirits near Carmen.  One group was at the head of her bed, and the other group was near her feet.  The groups were distinctly separate, and they never mixed.  They both had only one intention - to expose Carmen's secrets.  The first group edged forward, and they were very dark (almost black) children aged from three to ten.  None of them wanted to touch or even look at Carmen.  One boy shyly stepped forward with his hand extended out to Carmen:

Spirit (with a document in his extended hand): Cuando?  Cuando?  Where is the signed document?  When will she sign it?  I cannot go without it.  (looking down at the floor)  I do not want anything else.  It needs to be signed.  We are the children she promised to bring into the world, but she never did.  She tells me she doesn't want to hear about it anymore.  (very calm, but insistent)  She made a promise that she never kept!  I need her to sign that paper, so I can be free.  I've been waiting for a very long time.  Waiting, waiting.  I don't want to wait with her again for another lifetime, I want to be freed.  I have a special pen.  It's a pen that cannot be erased.

(The spirit guides who had accompanied the children to our table told them that they would sign the individual documents for them to move on.)

Junior: They are signed now, you can go.

Spirit: Why are you in such a hurry?  Be quiet.  They are not all signed, it's one by one.  He's telling me to give you a number, and we are a group of sixteen.  Let me ask all of you something.  Who is this man (the spirit guide)?  He's not her (Carmen's) father, but he's telling us we no longer need to wait, once the documents are all signed.  It's done, and all of us will go now.  Tell her when she makes a promise, it should be completed.

 

Spirit 2 (via Nelson):   Nelson asked Maribel if Carmen ever regretting not having kids, and Maribel said that they sometimes talked about being married.  Carmen would ask Maribel about "that feeling of being married, and what it felt like."  Nelson said, "Our secrets consume our lives," as the second group of spirits with Carmen moved forward.  They were all men.  The spirits had been abused in some fashion by Carmen, and they were present now to ask her for an explanation.  The spirit who spoke for the group was a coworker of Carmen's, and she was responsible for getting him fired from his job.  It took him five years to find work, and by that time, his life was already in a downward spiral:

Spirit (angry and emotional):  I am not her friend - that devil!  I would try to be sweet and tell her, "good morning," and she would reply, "it's not a good morning until you get to work."  She was always watching, ready to report something to the boss.  (yelling)  I was afraid to go to the bathroom!

Eva: That was from the past, you have to forgive her.

Spirit: No!  It's now!  I worked with her (in this life), and this is my work now (to bother Carmen).  I have been with her for a while in this life.  She knew everything at that job, with eyes all over her head.  She was filled with office secrets!

Eva: She's suffered a lot already.

Spirit: Because she wasn't any good.  (The spirit demonstrated Carmen typing with her eyes roaming all over the others in the office)  Everyone who feels sorry for her now should have seen her typing.  She was the top secretary to the boss, and she could sign his name to any document.  I told her once that I had four kids to feed, and asked her if the 2 she gave me on my appraisal could be moved up and changed to a 1.  She changed it to a 3!

Eva: Find your own freedom now - away from her.

Junior: It's important.

Spirit: That typing she did (demonstrated again) isn't important any more, so we will go.  We are eight employees of that demon.

Eva: She's a different woman now.  Don't think about her, and find some tranquility, something peaceful.

 

Spirit 3 (via Nelson): The spirit left quietly.  Nydia arrived to join our session after work, and she sat down at the perfect time, as we were between spirits.  Nelson started to wonder if there were ever any Indians living in the area where we were meeting.  He saw them in a hidden downhill area behind the house of Nydia's father and Nelson's parents.  Nydia explained that her father had always told her that section of land was an Indian cemetery.  One of the Indian spirits had realized that Nelson could see him.  He only agreed to talk because the color of Nelson's skin was similar to his.  The spirit cautioned, "Do not bring anyone else up our road.  Do not reveal our cemetery.  If you do, they will come here and dig it up, looking for valuables.  I am guarding it, and that's all I do."  The spirit continued to speak through Nelson explaining that he had a very small bow and arrow ("la flecha") that he dipped into a poison he made from the red seeds of a plant.  He offered to show us the plant after he finished talking.  He would shoot his small poisoned arrows into people with a tiny bow.  When he hit someone, their legs would slowly begin to deteriorate.  The painful (and sometimes fatal) leg infections where his way to keep people from walking back to discover the cemetery:

Spirit: This is a beautiful land.  It's productive, it should be left alone.  That blonde one who came here (Nelson's mother), the one who would rock in her chair and order others to bring her things?  I listened to her.  She wanted to cut down the area near our cemetery.  "Clean this place," she demanded.  (laughed)  That didn't work!  (Nelson's mother spent the last 19 years of her life in a wheelchair, unable to use her legs)  What happened to that man who was here, on our land?
Nydia: That was my father.  He isn't here anymore.

Spirit: I've been waiting for him.  He cooked outside with wood.  Like we did.  When he ate, we ate.  I've been up here a long time.  (Nydia's father also had issues with his legs before he died)  And that woman, the blonde one across the road?  She's not here.  (The neighbor across the street died form a leg infection - and her husband was now suffering in the same way)  No doctor can diagnose my special liquid.  (to Junior)  What happened to your blonde friend?  (His former girlfriend fell twice and sustained leg injuries)   It's in my soul.  I am an Indian, this is my land.  My name is "Pluma de Hera" (Ivy Feather in English) because I always wore one feather in the back of my head.  In my heart and in my soul, I am an Indian.

Nydia (very emotional):  We cannot apologize enough for what was done to all of the Indians on this island.  I would never let anyone disturb your cemetery.

Spirit:  Thank you.

Nydia: You are always welcome here.  It's your land.

Spirit: I protected my land, the cemetery of my ancestors.  I know I'm a spirit, I know its time to leave.  We are four senoras, you would call them Mrs, and 22 warriors, with six children.  That's my tribe.  The four women were my wives.  We needed many wives to populate our tribe.  We are leaving now for another land.

Nydia: Forgive us for what we have done to all your tribes.

 

Spirit 4 (via Nydia): Nelson asked Nydia about the car accident her daughter-in-law had around 3am on Sunday morning.  About 11am on Sunday, Nelson heard a hideous scream.  The accident was severe, and Nydia explained the various surgeries involved.  As she spoke, Nydia's spirit guide (a black madame) arrived with a strong message: 

Spirit: My spirit is content with her (Nydia's) evolution.  I'm happy with the work, the evolution.  I wish all of you the same happiness for your spirits.  And for you, Nelson.

Nelson: Thank you.

Spirit: Your evolution is very good.  It's strong work.  Not just with this group, but with all the roads you travel.

Nelson:  It fulfills my spirit.

Spirit: In the name of God and the spirits of light, I will tell you to prepare for things from your family.  Keep harmony and balance, but choose the right road.  It's a privilege for me to see your interactions.  (to all)  The spirit world is very large.  Continue the work, without secrets.  I am an intelligent madame, and I can tell you that it is a process of evolution.  I am filled with happiness because you let me say these words.

 

Spirit 5 (via Nelson): Nelson told Eva that her daughter was just a phone call away from having a new job.  Everything is in place, and if the call has not already happened, it will.  Jeff told Eva that she deserved much of the credit, as she never gave up, prayed constantly, and kept reassuring her daughter to have a constant faith.  We were two hours into our session, and Nelson was tired - but there was another spirit who wanted to be heard.  Nydia had a grandson who had a birthday coming up soon.  It was his mother who was in the car accident.  There was a spirit present who resented his birthday and this spirit was partially responsible for the accident.  The spirit would have been the second child of Nydia's daughter-in-law:

Spirit: I was treated like an animal.  I was waiting to be born, what happened?  I am still a baby, so someone else is speaking for me.  It's a man.  I can't talk yet.  (it seemed as if the spirit had been aborted)  There is no excuse (began to play with the tablecloth).  I waited, and at that moment, after waiting, what happened?

Junior: It was material.

Nydia: She's responsible, not you.

Eva: Forgive her ignorance.

Spirit (crying): She resented me!  I wasn't wanted!  Now I'm a vagabond of the world.

Junior: There will be a new opportunity.

Spirit (sucking her thumb): It's not that easy.

Junior: It's the law.

Spirit:  This man, the one who is talking for me, he is saying the same things.

Eva:  He will take you to a school to learn more until you understand.

(The spirit who brought her here explained that he was her grand love - he was all the love the spirit needed)

Spirit: It's really such a grand love!  Thank you (began to cry).
Junior: Your suffering will end.  You have found a pure love.

Spirit:  No more suffering?  He said it's a process.

Eva: You will find happiness.

Spirit: So I will accept that process!  I was going to be a baby girl.  Now I have to wait.  Transition.  I will go with him, and accept his conditions.  He loves me!

Eva: He's offering you lots of love.  Mucho!

Spirit: Tell her, that one who would have been my mother, I forgive her for keeping me a secret.  Only for that, and not for anything else.  (the spirit glided away quietly)

 

Spirit 6 (via Nydia): Nydia wondered how Mirelsa was sleeping, and she shared that her sleep not been good since she returned home.  Her sleep was being interrupted by a spirit:

Spirit:  Dogs!  I see many things are happening here, and I want to express myself, outside of her sleep.

Nelson: You have been looking for her.

Spirit: I was abandoned!

Nelson: Why do you go there at night?  At that time?

Spirit: I heard all those prayers, all those people praying for her.

Nelson: You thought those prayers were calling you to her?

Spirit: She was calling all of us to her, both groups.  We are 14 and 3, on two different levels.  The 14 are on a higher level, like her.

Eva: Liberate yourself from that work.

Spirit:  I know.  I'll go.  There's a better road for me.  Don't pray for me!

Nelson: Let her sleep.

Junior (to Mirelsa):  Think of positive things before you sleep, not negative.  (Eva added that some warm milk with vanilla and cinnamon may help Mirelsa relax before bed.)

Nelson: They see us, but we don't see them.  Its difficult.  That's why we need this (spiritism) to talk to them.  (to Mirelsa)  Everyone has been praying for you for such a long time, and now it's time for you to pray for yourself. 

 

Spirit 7 (via Nydia): As Nydia was recovering from the last spirit, a new spirit jumped into her to give the group a preview of what to expect in our next session on Saturday.  It was a very strong spirit, so it did not sit for very long::

Spirit: Choose the work over pride!  We have told you how small doubts can destroy a group.  When humans create conflicts, spirits move in to take advantage.

Nelson: There are many books with that advice, and many places that teach... 

Spirit (interrupting Nelson):  At the centers, it is only spiritism!  We will tolerate nothing else.  The doors to comprehension and illumination must be open.  (The group discussed)

Nelson: If someone does not like a sunrise, there will be another one tomorrow.  This is my work, and I need to do it.

Spirit: What matters are those who are here.  That's what counts.

 

The group recited the closing prayer in unison.

Just a Thought

Chicago - February 12, 2017

In attendance: Bernardo, Carmen, Danny, Denise, Eva, Frank, Gabe, Isabel, Isaac, Jeff, Marisol, Nelson, Ron, Rossana, Sonia, and X

 

Spirit 1 (via Nelson):  After the opening prayer, Marisol read the prayer for the sick.  As she finished, Nelson heard a spirit tell her, "You should read that prayer for yourself."  Marisol explained that she was driving more cautiously, as she hoped that her recovery from the fall would continue without incident.  Her comments prompted the spirit to sit through Nelson:

Spirit: Do not think that it cannot happen again.  When something fails, we have other plans in place.  We were planning a car crash.  We always have a back-up plan.  Why are you getting involved where you should not be involved?  (with relatives in Puerto Rico)  If we get rid of you, everything else will fall into place, and a lot of people will get what they deserve.  Why are you helping them?

Marisol: When you love, that is what you are supposed to do.

Spirit:  Last week you spoke about them, too!  Why do you ask?  Don't you know how bad they are?  They are the worst people in the world.  When it is help for them, you are okay with it, but if it is for someone else...selfish spiritist!  Do not keep meddling, or else!  You do not know what you are getting into!  If you meddle, we will hit.  You should pray for the devil to take them.  Check that prayer book and find that prayer. They are horrible.  They call you, and after they call, they do something bad.  Do not meddle!  (to the good spirit guides next to him)  Let me go, I know what I'm doing.  (to Marisol)  Do the prayer that I told you, for the devil to take them!  They invite us to that place (the spiritist center in Puerto Rico), and then we don't do anything.  They search for us, they call us, and then they ignore us!  I am very angry and there are so many of us.  We do a lot.  'Come to this place,' they ask us, 'and we will educate you.'  They think that elevated spirits arrive, and it is us! 

Marisol: That's not nice...

Spirit: I know you feel me, they brought me here because of YOU!  We were told not to waste anymore of our time over there - I only speak the truth!  Hate is what they have over there, and the members hate each other.  You will not find the truth over there, and I know, because I was there five minutes ago.  He (the spirit guide) told me I could speak here and be heard, so here is some advice.  Pray from here, and be cautious.  Some came here with me today, and some of them did not.  We are 24 demons.  I feel calmer now, less vengeful.  Do you think I can find happiness?

Marisol: I am sure of it.

Spirit: Then we will all go together.  Thank you, and pray for them. 

 

Nelson advised Marisol to tell Carmencita that there is a spirit at her center pretending to be a guide when he was not.  He disguises himself very well, dressing all in white, and pretending to be a light spirit.  He is an elevated spirit for the other side, and he is very clever.  Nelson advised all the mediums to question the spirits extensively before letting them sit at any table or session.

 

Spirit 2 (via Nelson):  Nelson was being shown something that seemed crazy.  There was some sort of preparation underway for a big convention.  It was in a huge arena, and everyone was very busy.  As he continued to watch, it became apparent that the assembly was a preparation for war.  Marisol was being shown the same vision, and she interpreted it as the spirit world gathering to assure that war did not happen on earth - and things were not going too well to prevent it.  Nelson said that there was even a battle in the spirit world over a war breaking out, as the spirits were conflicted over stopping the war or letting it happen - so that the humans would finally learn:

Nelson: I see all of these young kids - an entire generation will be lost if it happens.

Marisol:  Many other lives will also be lost if the war isn't stopped.

Nelson:  On Friday night, I saw where the war would start - in Poland.  Russia will invade Poland.

(an authoritative commander spirit moved into Nelson to address our group)

Spirit: The soldiers are ready for the next battle! 

Marisol: I'm sorry to hear that.

Spirit: We are prepared, many of us, many battalions.  All kinds, all places.  Many soldiers are here with me.  They are trying to stop what is going to happen, but I think it is too late.  I'm one of the generals.  We are prepared!  We are not the generals of the spirit world; we are prepared and ready to receive the dead.  (sadly)  We do not want to be ready, but we are getting prepared, in case we are needed.

Jeff: What can we do to stop war from happening?
Spirit:  Pray.  Pray for those in power.  The battle has already started - on both sides.  There are those who think it should happen as a way for humans and evil spirits to be cleansed and removed.  Pray.  Few changes can be accomplished, but war never solves any problems.  Pray that those in power are able to realize it.  I am not an elected one, I am only a friend who wants to help.  Our work (receiving the dead) is very painful.  When we arrive, it is too late for them, it is too late for others to help them.  It's not what we want, and not what you want.  But we are prepared.  We are opening hospitals to receive them, those who are not prepared to depart. We have to collect them.  They have given me a unique opportunity to share with you what we are doing.  Pray and hope that we are not needed.  It's going to be so painful, with so many cries of desperation.  Please do not call on us to serve.  We are ready because we need to be ready, but we hope we are not called.  Pray my friend, for the entire world is in commotion and hate - and hate only creates pain.  Give love to the friends you are surrounded by, and you are never alone.  Love, love, love.  And with that, I will leave you - with love.

 

Spirit 3 (via Nelson):  Nelson turned his attention to Rossana.  There was a spiritual complication that was preventing her from bringing her new son into the material world.  It was a complex situation.  Rossana's first son (the one she already has) was a soldier in his previous life, and her next child would also be a retuning soldier.  The general who commanded that spirit (the one who will eventually become her son) was the spirit who wanted to sit.  He wanted to stop Rossana and her husband from allowing the spirit under his command to reincarnate as their son:

Spirit (causing Nelson to stand as he spoke):  This is not allowed.  We have prevented him from communicating with his brother (the son that Rossana already has), and you have lost your job.  What will it take for you to realize that should not bring him here?  HE IS A CRIMINAL!  Your husband was part of this, too.  The son you want to bring is an enemy of that husband you have now.  I am only here because of her (Eva, Rossana's mom).  That grandmother (Eva) needs to understand that HE IS NOT COMING.  We are not going to let it happen.  Criminal!  They are hiding him, because he is a criminal.  But I will find him today.

 

(Note: When Marisol and Sonia tried to counsel the spirit, he told them, "Lower your voices when you speak to me."  Denise was able to coach him with a few questions, but he would only discuss the spirit of Rossana's unborn son.)

Spirit: I only care about him.  No one has more power than I do.  You are afraid of Hitler?  Well, I am a Hitler, and until I find him, I will not rest. 

Marisol: You said he was a criminal?
Spirit: Today will be his confrontation with me, face to face.  I have been treated very well today, so I have no issues with any of you.

Eva: You are meddling and interfering.  And you are a spirit.

Spirit: I know I am a spirit!  And I am very intelligent.  And I need to keep that criminal hidden.

Eva: He is an innocent baby - he hasn't done anything yet.

Spirit: He is a pig.  He is here, I feel it.  This is why I love my army.  He is hiding behind that pig, so he's protected.  (talking directly to the other spirit)  You know what you did.  You cannot even look at me.  You betrayed me!  You killed me!  Look at him, he is not even sorry.  That criminal, he cannot do anything to deny it.  The two of us, we are not going to do anything.

Denise: Can you forgive him?
Spirit:  How?  The only thing I can think of is to let him be in that jail forever.  I know I'm a spirit, but I only have hate.  Hate for him.  Only hate.  (long pause, followed by the spirit gripping the back of the chair and crying painfully)  Do you know why I hate him?  (sobbing)  That criminal was my son!  My son killed me with his own hands, and now you want me to forgive him?  (long pause)  Talking to you about it does make me feel better. but I cannot.  (pause)  He wants me to hug him?  So both of us can be happy?  I cannot speak.  (pause)  We are free, there are sixty of us, and you have helped us...

 

The spirit was extremely difficult for Nelson to pass.  His guide spiritually took him to a castle in Warsaw with five different levels.  The body of the first spirit (the father killed by his son) was on level three.  Nelson and his guide continued lower, and the body of the second spirit (the one who killed his father and would reincarnate as Rossana's son) was on the bottom level.  It was so deep, there was water on the floor.  Both spirits had to be brought together, with their bodies recovered, to erase their memories from that prior existence.  As Nelson was explaining the situation to our group, both of the spirits were still in the room, as they also needed to understand what happened.  In their last existence, the son killed his father because in the previous life, the father killed the son.  In this life, the son who killed his father will be born as Rossana's son.  The father will reincarnate as the child of his son (Rossana's grandson).  Jeff told Rossana that it was apparent that her grandson would hate his father - but with this additional spiritual insight. Rossana would be the only one who would understand why.  Rossana was curious over why the spirit referenced her husband.  Nelson asked his guide, and Caballito replied, " Your husband enabled your future son to kill his father.  He was the accomplice." 

 

Spirit 4 (via Nelson): Caballito arrived to refresh and cleanse Nelson.  As he worked, he spoke to the table:

Caballito: Now that you have seen that history, heard that story, understand that all of you have your own background story.  If you want to know it, ask me, and I will tell you.  (to Isaac)  I heard your thoughts, and I know that you want to know about your past story.  I will tell you about that existence that you want to know - and it is very interesting.  That existence is the life he would like to have now.  You get hints about that time, but it is not the life you have now.  Live this life, the one you have.  Do not go back into that one.  You can think about it, but you cannot go back.  I will tell you when you are ready.  And you also wonder about why you are so shy.

 

Spirits 5 & 6 (via Carmen):  Carmen was working with a very sick spirit.  Nelson walked over to stand between Carmen and Denise, and all he could smell was the stench of death.  The spirit painfully moved into Carmen:

Spirit: I do not want to leave.  (to Denise)  I only want to leave with you...

Nelson:  That is not possible.

Spirit (to Denise):  You live in a horrible world...

Denise: I am tired of tying to work things out.

Spirit: I give that man (Denise's father) energy.

Denise: I take one step forward and ten steps back.

Spirit: The worms are already there.  To decay, to rot.  That house is hell.  I am not that bad, I just like to create commotion.  When he (Denise's father) plays dumb, everyone runs to him.  She keeps trying to change him, to help him.  And today it is her hand, then the stomach, then something else.  She does not learn.  I am a general, and you need to pay attention to me. Just like you do with him.  He would be happy if you gave him a bell, so he could summon you sooner.  (pause)  All the smells are here, the odors of death.  Don't let the smells kill you!  If only she would let that happen!  If she doesn't leave them, soon she will be in a cemetery.  I must leave now, I am much too sick.

 

Fourteen spirits were removed, and Carmen's guide arrived to briefly clean her.  Marisol and Nelson turned their attention towards Danny.  "Have patience, " Marisol told him, "and a job will come."  Danny lived with his two brothers, and he has been with his girlfriend for about a year.  Although she was allowed to visit him in the shared house, one of his brothers was not allowed to have his dates over.  There was resentment and fear in the house, and the entire structure was packed with spirits attracted to the animosity.  Nelson's guide was speaking from a standing position behind Nelson, and he cautioned Danny not to trust the opinions of his girlfriend's family.  They were nice to his face, but with him not having a job, they considered him a loser who was not suitable for their daughter:
Nelson: I recommend that you do not go over there, to visit her in that house.  Would you tell your girlfriend about this, about your belief in spiritism?
Danny: I would. 

Nelson: Do you think that she will still be with you two years from now?  I see two cards, and both of them have an X on them.  They are facing away from each other.  Why are you settling?  Do not force something just to have it.  You are selling yourself too short, and when you do that, your smooth road becomes very bumpy (demonstrated).  And there is something in that house that is not right.  Look how bumpy the road is now (gestured the same road with increased bumps and holes).  There is a job to be done in that house with your brothers, and you cannot leave.  There's resentment.  What is missing in that house is love.  When you go there tonight, talk to your brothers and tell them that you love them.  Tell them that if they need something, you are there for them.  That is what is missing in that house - love.

Danny: I know that.

Nelson: We cannot have peaceful, wonderful things in life if our road is not smooth.  If you are angry with one of your brothers, tell them, 'Today, we will end that.'  And I want you to find real love (with his girlfriend).  Do not settle for less.

 

Sonia shared that when Nelson read the opening prayer, she was shown a microphone in front of him.  It boomed his voice all over, and Sonia saw colorful sound vibrations in the air.  Caballito wanted to sit, but Nelson kept insisting that he was tired - so Caballito stood behind Nelson and told him what to say.  He wanted Nelson to ask Ron about taking a trip to Las Vegas.  Ron was apprehensive, as he would need to have an oxygen tank at the airport when he left, and another one once he arrived.  "I want you to take that trip," Caballito/Nelson told him, "and take her (Isabel) with you."  Ron agreed to find out more about the oxygen tanks and the potential flying restrictions. 

 

Caballito wanted Nelson to focus on Xavier (X) next.  Nelson was uncertain about what to say or do, so he agreed to let Caballito sit through him:

Caballito (to X):  You are wondering, 'Am I wrong in any way?'  (X agreed)  You are feeling lost?  (X agreed)  You feel lost because the thing you thought you wanted is now not what you want.  You want to move forward in life, and you feel stuck, because what you are trying to do is not working.  You wanted to be a musician, and you made your life one thing that was about that one thing.  Put that aside, and pick up your life - your human life.  The music can be a dream that you are not ready for...

X: I want to be an artist, not just a musician.

Caballito:  In life, not everything is for everyone.  He needs my help, and I cannot say no.  I want to help him, he is a good kid, but he doesn't know what he wants from life.  This one (Nelson) did not want to let me sit.  'You tell me, and I will tell them,' he said.  But when we got to this young man, he had nothing without my help.  (to Jeff)  Will you speak to him about that?  (to Xavier)  There are other things in life that you can do.  You are eating a plate of food that you do not like, and you are becoming anxious and upset.  Can I use the word I hear all of you say?  Pissed!  I am going to be honest.  You have not opened any other doors because you have forced yourself into only one door.

X: I don't know what direction to take to get to those other doors.

Caballito: You are at the beginning of your life, and you are becoming so upset that you cannot even eat.  Let's see if we can help you.  My son, open your eyes to your life!  There is so much out there that you can do, but you continue to harm yourself.  I have said this once before, and I will repeat it again - you are not your mother!  You do not have what she has.  He's depressed and I want him to leave happy.  This guy I am speaking through (Nelson), he loves you and he wants the best for you.  Sonia, do you understand why a home with someone who is not so nice could bring in friends (spirits) who are not the best?  (She did)  They can influence young minds.  (to X)  Those friends belong to someone else - not you.  Sonia, can you take this boy into your home for one week?  (She agreed)  Tomorrow, if possible, or Tuesday.

 

Caballito asked Xavier to stand with Sonia behind him, with Nelson in front.  As he was about to use the towel on X, Caballito handed it to Jeff - as the spirits had already been trapped and removed.  He asked Xavier to think of something funny.  "If you could go to Grandma's tomorrow, it would be great," Caballito continued, "and no music, no notes, and keep your phone closed.  Make it a week of relaxation." (Note: He was unable to make the trip.) 

 

Caballito said he would remove 42 spirits - all of them from X.  He would also take five from Ron, three from Carmen, and four from Eva.

Caballito:  Today everyone will be given a (spiritual) white rose in their hands.  It represents love, innocence, helping and caring.  Without telling anyone, take that rose home today and pass it on to someone.  Do not tell them about the rose; just grasp their hands and give them love.  (to Frank)  Learn how to look at life with love.  (to Marisol)  You will have a good trip (to Florida).  Go to that ocean, and buy a white rose to put into the water in remembrance of the one you loved.  I am working with him.  He is still material, and he needs to see it (the rose).  I will be there with you when you do that.

 

Nelson closed with a prayer.

Family Relationships and Resemblances

Family Relationships 

203. Do parents transfer a part of their soul to their children? Or do they only give them the organic life to which another soul then adds the moral life? 
“Only the organic life is given by the parents because the soul is indivisible. A daft father may have intelligent children, and vice versa.” 

204. Do our relationships extend beyond our present existence since we have had many lives? 
“Of course. The succession of their physical lives establishes a variety of relationships among spirits, which date back to their former lives. These relationships are often the cause of the empathy or aversion which you sometimes feel towards individuals whom you seem to meet for the first time.” 

205. It would appear that, for some, reincarnation seems to destroy family ties by carrying them back to periods prior to our present existence. 
“It extends rather than destroys them. On the contrary, the idea that present relationships are based on prior affections makes the bonds between members of the same family less dependent on the will of others. It makes the duties of brotherhood even more crucial, because your neighbor or your servant may be the incarnation of a spirit who has formerly related to you by blood.” 

a) So it diminishes the importance that many people give to their ancestry, since we may have had a spirit that has belonged to a different race than ours, or one that has held a different social standing? 
“That is true, but this importance is usually based on pride because most people honor their ancestors’ title, rank, and fortune. Many are embarrassed to admit that they have an honest shoemaker for a grandfather, but boast being the descendant of someone from a noble birth. No matter what people may say or do, they cannot prevent the actions of Divine order. God has not established natural law to meet the demands of human vanity.” 

206. If there is no relationship between the spirits successive reincarnations as the descendants of the same family, is it foolish to honor the memory of one’s ancestors? 
“Of course not, people should celebrate belonging to a family that counts elevated spirits among its members. Although spirits do not proceed from one another, their affection for those who are related to them by family ties is real. People are often led to incarnate in such and such a family because of preexisting links, and by the influence of attractions due to relationships from previous lives. You can rest assured that the spirits of your ancestors are in no way gratified by the honors you pay to their memory from a sentiment of pride. Through emulation of their good qualities your memory can become pleasant and valuable.”

Physical and Moral Likeness 

207. Parents often transfer physical likeness to their children; do they also transfer moral traits or likeness? 
“No, because they have different souls or spirits. The body may yield a body, but the spirit does not yield any other spirit. The descendants of the same race share nothing other than blood.” 

a) What causes the moral likeness that sometimes exists between parents and children? 
“The influence of moral sympathy, which brings together spirits with similar thoughts and inclinations.” 

208. Do the spirits of the parents have any influence over the spirit of their child after birth? 
“They have a very large influence on it. As we have already told you, spirits are made to contribute to one another’s progress. The spirits of the parents are entrusted with the mission of developing those of their children by the training they give them. It is a task that is appointed to them, and which they cannot fail to fulfill without feeling a sense of guilt.” 

209. How is it that good and virtuous parents often give birth to children who are perverse and malicious in nature? In other words, how is it that the good qualities of the parents do not always attract a good spirit to embody their child? 
“A bad spirit may ask to have good, honest parents in the hope that their counsel may help him or her mend their ways, and God often entrusts such a child to the care of moral individuals so that they may benefit from their love and care.” 

210. Can parents attract a good spirit into the body of their child by their objectives and prayers? 
“No, but they can improve the spirit of the child, who was entrusted to them for that purpose. It is their duty to do this, but bad children are often sent as a trial for the improvement of the parents.” 

211. What causes the similarity of character that so often exists among siblings, especially between twins? 
“The understanding that exists between two spirits who are attracted by similarities of thoughts and ideas, and who are happy to be together.” 

212. In the case of conjoined twins who share some of their organs, are there two spirits or two souls? 
“Yes, but their likeness often makes them seem as though there were only one.” 

213. Since spirits incarnate as twins due to feelings of sympathy, from where does the hostility that is sometimes felt by twins for one another originate? 
“There is no set rule stating that only sympathetic spirits are incarnated as twins. Unsympathetic spirits may have formed this link to try to work out their differences during a new physical life.”

216. In its new existence, does a spirit preserve any traces of the moral character exhibited in its former lives? 
“Yes, but it changes as it improves. Its social standing may also change greatly in successive lives. After being a master in one existence and becoming a slave in another, their tastes are altogether different and it is difficult to recognize them. Since it is the same spirit, there may be certain similarities between the manifestations of their character in successive lives, but these manifestations prefect the change in conditions and habits particular to each new corporeal life, until the character has improved and completely changed. People who were once arrogant and cruel can become humble and humane through repentance and effort.” 

217. Does a person preserve any traces of his or her physical nature from previous lives? 
“When the body is destroyed, the new one has no connection to the old one. However, the spirit is reflected in the body and despite the body being only matter, it is modeled based on the capacities of the spirit. Therefore, the spirit imprints a specific character that is most visible in the face, especially in the eyes. The face reflects the soul more than the rest of the body. At first sight, it may seem that only strong, healthy bodies could serve as the envelopes for good spirits. Yet every day we see superior people with deformed bodies.  The body housing the soul in a new incarnation does not have any essential connection with the one it has left (it may even belong to another race).

We seemed to have some confusion over this blog with some attendees from the Puerto Rico group.  When we started, everyone gave us permission to use their name, but we had some newer participants who were not even aware that there was a blog.  Instead of asking us to change their name to a pseudonym, they decided to stop attending.  Nelson wanted to remind everyone that we could always change their name for the blog. 

 

Nydia added that she hosted a dinner party last night for some members of our group, and she stressed that in addition to education and holding sessions, socialization (dinners, and other events) was a necessity for keeping a spiritual family informed and connected.  She hoped that small, trivial things would not interfere with that established tradition.  It's one of the reasons we serve food after the sessions!

 

Spirits 1 & 2 (via Nydia):  Nelson asked Ivan about the condition of his father and Carmen.  The father had an infection, and he was recovering at home.  Carmen had been readmitted to the hospital.  When we transition back to the spirit world, there are always more spirits around us at that time then when we are born.  We have spirits from our current life, and from past lives.  Some spirits from Carmen's previous life were with her, and one of them angrily sat through Nydia:

Spirit (banging on the table): Demon!  Devil!  She presents herself so prim and proper, but we are a group of madames and other blacks, and she is a snob!  She acts like a queen!  She did it then, and she does it now.  Do you know what she did to us when we were her slaves?  She would serve us plates with nothing on them - no food!  Empty!

(Nelson coached the group of spirits, helping them to understand that their existence with Camen was many years ago.  They decided to leave Carmen alone.)

Spirit: We will evolve. We will find some light.  We are 53, it's a large group...

 

The spirit left Nydia shaking, with her hands extended over her head.  Nydia's spirit guide arrived immediately to cleanse her.  She spoke softly: "There are so many existences in our past.  There is always more work."

 

Spirit 3 (via Nelson):  Nelson asked Eva to read the "Prayer for the Afflicted," but it was not for Carmen or Ivan's father.  It was for Normita, the caregiver for both of them.  She was feeling abandoned and her stress level was increasing daily.  The spirit of her mother (Norma) knew that Normita needed help, and she seemed disappointed to see that the rest of the family was not uniting to help her.  A spirit moved forward to explain the spiritual side of what Normita was experiencing:

Spirit: Chico!  Mucho cosas. She wants everything to be nice - pretty and under control, like her hair - but I bother her.  A lot.  (laughed)  Look at her - hypocrite!  Everything is so nice on the surface, like a dream.  But in reality, everything is not nice.  Devil!  She sees how it is, and it hurts!  She says, 'My problem is that nobody wants to do what I say!'  Her problem is that people treat her in a way she doesn't expect.  She's feeling the heat (laughed).  She needs psychiatric help - a lot of it!  (Junior counseled the spirit)  I won't go until it ends!  No matter how much you and this guy (the spirit guide) talk.  It's as irritating as when she talks.  'Nee-nee-nee-nee!'  and this guy sounds the same.  'Nee-nee-nee-nee!'  This guy is really bothering me, so I will go with him.  He wants me to give you a number.  (looked to the left)  What number?  There are six with me and 12 others.  (The spirit departed quickly)

 

Spirit 4 (via Herbert):  Nelson and Nydia had an uncle who was a medium.  He was a spiritist, but as far as anyone knew, he had stopped using his mediumship.  This choice was compared to someone who bought a car and agreed to make 365 payments - but they stopped making payments after number 364.  There was still a payment due, so the car would be repossessed.  The uncle needed to return to spiritism and the work he promised.  A calm spirit sat through Herbert to explain the uncle's perception:

Milagros: Life goes on.

Spirit: And my road now is green and lush, nothing more.  Without suffering.

Nelson: But that green road does not lead to anything without the work.  It's your responsibility. 

Nydia: It's cause and effect.

Nelson: You are guilty twice, because you cannot say that you didn't know better.  Think of your progress.

Spirit (to Nydia):  It's with the Alejando family, that work, this divine hand (rubbed his hands in a circular motion on the tabletop).  So my responsibility is not by chance (casualidad)?  I'm not going to be saved?  (held his hands up)  I do not want future lives that are more difficult.  Mira, we are 14, and now, little by little, his responsibility will be his own.  It's material.

(Nydia's spirit guide returned to offer encouragement about spiritual work)

Spirit: It's a panorama.  It's a grand, serious process.  How difficult is spiritism?  Just see the full panoramic view in front of you.  Don't wait for tomorrow to find that beautiful road.  Spiritual life is a work done hand in hand, with your guides, finding what you promised before you reincarnated.  It's an evolution or your spirit, as you progress together, and there is more unity.  Your family is the entire planet.  Educate your spirit.  Your spirit will be content when you give up some material things.  Pray to the spirit world for help.  (pause)  How beautiful it is to have a happy spirit.  (became emotional)  And you do not need to broadcast your work.

Junior: Nothing is free, we have to work on our evolution without a vacation.

 

Spirits 5 & 6 (via Nelson and Nydia): Nelson was sweating, and he said it was because the next spirit was very difficult.  Caballito wanted Nelson to travel with him to a very dark and dirty muddy place to bring the spirit back to our table.  Nydia agreed, as she was being shown a spirit who put someone in a hospital.  The material person in the hospital was Mildred (Nydia's sister, and the daughter of the uncle from the last spirit we passed).  Mildred had two veins that needed to be repaired, and this spirit was not allowing it to happen.  It was a serious operation.  Nydia shared some background history about her sister.  She was completely consumed by the material world, and she was an Evangelical in her beliefs.  Nelson channeled a spirit who added more insight:

Spirit (laughing and forceful):  We will take her!  Cut her life short!  C'mon, sister, hallelujah, hallelujah!  Let's go, hallelujah!  Come with me.  We will take that pain, hallelujah! 

Nydia: You are the one causing her misery - it's with you.

Spirit: Where am I?  Why am I here?  I was pulled from a dark place where I was doing my work.  Hallelujah!  And now its being terminated?  What's going on?  (the spirit looked under the table and all around the area)  I am not going to terminate it!  Explain this law to me, EXPLAIN IT!  What is it that you want from me? 

Nydia: You are tired of that work, which is why you did it in darkness.

Spirit: What is her name?  That woman in the hospital?  (Mildred)  That is not her name, her name is "Maldita" (damn in English, or to cuss someone out)!  She never spoke to me.

Nydia: She could not hear you.  She was very material, nothing else...(as she was speaking, a new spirit moved into Nydia.  This spirit was also connected to Mildred.  Nelson's spirit continued to ask about what happened to bring him to our table)

Nydia's spirit: It was all material, all the time (held her head in her hands).  Material!

Nelson's spirit (to Nydia's spirit): I have nothing to do with you.  I'm not related to that.  He's different from me.  So I'm done, see ya!

Nydia's spirit:  That was not what I intended.  I have principles.  I'm also done, they tell me, and I have to leave.  I guess this is the end for me with her.  There are other things, other worlds.  It's a desperate end for those of us who refuse to change.

 

The spirit struggled and apologized (perdon, perdon) as he left.  There were 27 in his group, and Nydia's guide returned briefly to refresh her.  Nelson and Nydia will visit Mildred in the hospital on Monday.

 

Spirit 7 (via Nelson): Nelson was studying a spirit related to Herbert's youngest son:

Nelson: You always thought it would be your daughter who would be difficult, but now it's your youngest son who gives you headaches.  It's a delicate situation.

Nydia: It's from another existence.

 

(Note: The situation was with the grandfather.  In a previous life, the grandson from this current life was the son of the grandfather.  He was made to marry a woman in that life, but only so his father could steal the woman away from him.  In this life, that father was now the grandfather, and his grandson dislike him - because spiritually, he was afraid that once again, he would steal everything from him.  When he took the wife away in that previous life, the father locked his son in a prison cell with no food until he died.)

Spirit (slyly, through Nelson): My friend, he is my friend.  It's been a long time.

Junior: We need to close that.

Spirit: What's going on?  Why does he have that name for me?  (the grandson has never called his grandfather by his actual name - or by grandpa - he only calls him "you" or "senor")

Junior: He remembers what you did.

Spirit (irate):  A child who is childish!  I am not a criminal, it's all pretend.

Junior: If he forgives you, will you move on and find some happiness, some tranquility?

Spirit: I have been so alone.  (pause)  For such a long, long time.

 

Junior continued to counsel the spirit until Eva said one very short sentence to the spirit in Spanish (no translation) and the spirit understood completely.  He thanked her and said he would leave, because he would no longer think of himself, only of the boy (the grandson is 16 years old).  Four spirits were removed. 

 

Spirit 8 (via Nelson): Caballito arrived to cleanse Nelson.  As he worked, he addressed the group:

(for Herbert):  This is my work, with your child.  This is not Nelson.  Children are influenced by many things, and it is not always easy for them to understand the spirit world.  I am only a servant, but I can help.  It's not easy (to raise children with a spiritual conscience), it can be difficult (Herbert agreed).  Later on, talk to your son.  Tell him you do not mean to offend him, but you have noticed his behavior with his grandfather.  Ask him about it.  Be humble, and use love and respect.  (to Jeff)  I will remove seven female spirits from the mother of the boy.  (to Herbert)  They are not yours, they are from your wife.  And they are not easy.

Jeff: I'm guessing they have had a big influence on everything?

Caballito:  Yes.  (to Herbert)  Can you invite your wife here?  Prior to today, she would have said no, but from now on, she will say yes.  If she comes, it will be fruitful, so invite her.  (he will)

 

(for Nydia):  Prepare.  You are not alone, we are working with you, little by little. 

Nydia: It's okay for me to visit other spirit groups?  Even if they work differently?
Caballito:  There are many houses to visit.  For you and your son (Herbert).  Do not go if your spirit feels that it should not.

 

(for Nestor):  May I ask you a question?  There is a person that you don't think about, but you should.  Do you know who it is?  It's your daughter.  In her future, in her life, something is incorrect.

Nestor: Seguro, seguro.

Caballito: Her issue is that she doesn't think of the consequences of her actions.  I'm sorry if this is harsh.

Nestor: No, seguro, seguro.

Caballito:  We need to prevent something.  How would you feel if she shows up one day on your doorstop with a baby?  That's a plan to get your attention.  It's a very strong situation, because she is very strong willed, and she has always done whatever she wants.  A strong situation requires a strong talk.  Be calm. 

 

(for Lourdes):  Patria?  She doesn't like that name.  I know she likes another, but Patria?  How are things?

Lourdes: My husband is doing much better.

Caballito: After only two weeks of you coming here.  With a few more weeks, there will more change.

Herbert (to Lourdes): I'm sorry, I don't know you very well, but I see you smothered.  Trapped under layers of a blanket (demonstrated a thick covering that was over her head and closed tightly), but it's all rags. Scraps. You need to slowly open that shroud. 

Caballito:  If we remove difficult things now, the road is easier later.  If he sees your example (the changes), maybe one day your husband might agree to come here? 

Lourdes: That would be difficult.

Caballito: His curiosity over a change with you will bring him in.  He thinks he is alone, correct?  (agreed)  Let me tell you about him.  You cannot imagine that he will ever change.  Change?  For him it's impossible.  But if you invite him here - can you invite him here?  (she could)  If you invite him, he cannot ever say that you have never invited or shared this with him.  It's important.  It involves your older son. Caballito asked Jeff for a towel, and he folded it into a small pocket square.  He asked Lourdes to hold it directly on her heart, because it was icy cold.  Caballito needed to warm her heart of solid ice.  When the cloth was removed, he asked Jeff and two others to touch it.  It was extremely hot, as if it had been used to remove something from the oven.  Caballito explained that Lourdes was surrounded by stressful situations that were not related to her, but they where having a negative effect on her.  One of them was the continued escalation of arguments between her husband and son.  They continued to argue, on the phone and in person, loudly and about everything.  Jeff said, "It's like they packed the luggage, and now you are the one who has to carry it everywhere."  Caballito recommended that Lourdes should plan a lunch for her husband and her oldest son in a very public restaurant.  She should ask them both to say out loud everything they hated about each other at the lunch.  It needed to be public to stop it from becoming a shouting match.

 

Junior (to Caballito): Look, Mirelsa is here.

Caballito: I know that.  We will speak when it is needed.  (to Mirelsa) Do you enjoy it when I am here?  (she did)  Rina, are you happy to have your daughter back in the house?  (she was, and both Eva and Nydia began to cry with joy, because they had not been told that Mirelsa had moved back home)

 

(for Eva): Have things been difficult for your daughter?  (yes)  She has a center a few blocks from her house that she could attend, but she does not go.  (true)  It's easier to unload everything on you, her mother. but it has an impact.  There is no excuse.  It's difficult, but there is a spirit who needs to be freed.  Talk to her soon, and let her now that I invited her over.  I will be there.  With that baby who wants to come, we are keeping him occupied with processes - education, etc.  But if he is unable to come soon, he may choose to free himself, and then it is too late.  He has his own free will.  She needs to take action.  Part of my job is to help clear the way.  I have already removed 103 spirits from everyone who is here today.  In addition to attending, continue your education and learn.  If you have any questions, I am here.  Are there any questions today?  If I cannot answer, my supervisors are here with me, and they will answer.

Eva: What is happening with Carmen (she has been in and out of the hospital)?

Caballito: She is transitioning.  She's on the right road.

Rina: My older daughter (Yiri) has a medical issue that she is reluctant to talk about.  What would you recommend as a medicine or treatment?

Caballito: Ask her to come here with you on Wednesday.  I know there is another question.  Milargos?

Milargros:  Things are the same with me.

Caballito:  Have you seen any changes with your daughter?  (yes, some)  How are her children?

Milargros: Doing well, and they are full of energy.  Their lives are stable and consistent.  I told my daughter that her children are her responsibility, and my work is to pray for guidance. 

Caballito: Prayer makes a strong process easier.  (Caballito and Milagros continued to speak for a while, and Milagros closed the conversation with, "I am very hands on. with the material and the spiritual.  I give my energy to all of it.")

 

Herbert: I am going on a trip soon for work.  Will everything be okay?

Caballito: Do what you need to do, nothing will happen.  Your work is not exclusive to one location, it is large and the path is clear.  Do it with love and truth.  It's not going to end.  (whispered)  But you are preoccupied with your daughter (she finished college and she is working as a hotel bartender at La Concha).  You do not like what she is doing for a living, and neither does her mother or grandmother (Nydia).  She started with one thing, but it has led to another.  Talk to her.  I will find a way to guide her.  She comes from a past, a gypsy life, which is why she enjoys what she does.  She was a very sexy dancer in a prior life, with castanets (demonstrated). And if you can, bring her mother here.

 

(for Jeff): This has been a beautiful work.  My work makes me content.  Jeff, thank you for helping me.  Thank you for always having the items I need.  Keep doing what you are doing, as you are earning a star for yourself.  Don't think that you can do it for him (Nelson), or that he can do it for you.  It's for yourself, so keep going.  (Caballito removed himself)

 

Nydia had a brief message for Nestor (and both he and his father stood up):

Your father needs to make his own decisions.  It's crucial.  About what he eats, where he goes, etc.  If not, there will be many problems in the material world that will prevent a graceful exit into the spirit world for him.

When does the Spirit separate from the Body?

From Kardec’s The Spirits' Book - Separation of the Soul and Body 

154. Is the separation of the soul from the body painful? 
“No, the body often suffers more during life than at death because the soul is usually unaware of what is occurring to the body at death.  At the time of death, the spirit often enjoys what it is feeling, because it recognizes that it is at the end of its exile.  In natural death (exhaustion of the body due to age), human beings depart this life without even realizing that they are doing so.”

155. How does the separation of the soul from the body take place? 
“As the bonds restraining the soul are broken, it separates from the body.” 

a) Is this separation sudden? Is there a distinct line between life and death? 
“No, it is not like a bird whose cage is suddenly opened allowing it to escape at once. The soul gradually separates from the body. The two states are blurred together and the spirit extracts itself little by little from its bonds, which are loosened but not broken.” 

During life, a spirit is connected to the body by its semi-material envelope, or perispirit. Death is the destruction of the body, but not of this envelope, which separates from the body when organic life ends. Observation has shown us that the separation of the perispirit from the body at death is gradual, rather than abrupt, and this speed may vary depending on different individuals. In some cases, it is so quick that the perispirit completely separates from the body within a few hours after passing, while in others, particularly for those whose life has been exceedingly material and sensual, this release is much slower, and can take days, weeks, and even months. This does not imply the continuance of vitality in the body or any possibility of restoring life, but is simply the result of a hold between the body and the spirit proportionate to how consumed the spirit was with materiality during its human life. It is only rational to assume that if a spirit has closely identified with matter, it will be more difficult for it to separate from its material body. In contrast, intellectual and moral elevation of thought initiates this division even during the life of the body. 

Consequently, when death ultimately arrives, the separation is almost immediate. Studies of individuals after their death have shown that sometimes, the connection that remains between the soul and the body is extremely painful, as the spirit is fully cognizant of all the horrors of decomposition. This is an exceptional case, and unique to certain kinds of life and certain kinds of death. It can happen in the event of suicide. 

156. Can the definitive separation of the soul and body take place before the complete termination of organic life? 
“When experiencing extreme agony, the soul sometimes leaves the body so that all that remains is purely organic life. The person is no longer conscious of him or herself, despite the faint flicker of vitality remaining. The body is a machine that is regulated by the heart. As long as the heart pumps blood through its veins it continues to live. A soul is not needed for this.” 

157. At the moment of death, does the soul sometimes experience a kind of bliss that gives it a glimpse of the world to which it is about to return to? 
“The soul often feels the slackening of the restraints holding it to the body, and struggles to fully break them. Partially freed from matter, it views the future laid out before it, and enjoys the anticipation of the spirit state.” 

159. How does the soul feel when it realizes that it is in the spirit world? 
“That depends. People who have done wrong for the sake of doing wrong feel overwhelmed by shame for their behavior. The soul of a righteous individual is at ease, as if a heavy weight has been lifted and does not dread even the most penetrating evaluation.” 

160. Are spirits immediately surrounded by people who they knew on Earth and died before them? 
“Yes, according to the degree of affection they had for them and vice versa. They often come to them upon their return to the spirit world and help them shed material ties. Others whom they formerly knew, but may have lost contact with on Earth, come to meet them as well. They see all who are wandering, and visit those who are still incarnated.” 

Spirit Confusion 

163. Does the soul immediately regain self-consciousness upon leaving the body? 
“Not immediately. It is in a state of confusion.” 

164. Do all spirits experience the confusion that follows the separation of the soul from the body to the same degree and for the same span of time? 
“No, this depends on their elevation. The person who is already purified recovers consciousness almost immediately, because they have already freed themselves from the shackles of materialism during physical life. However, a more materialistic person, whose conscience is not clear, remains branded with the impression of matter for a longer period of time.” 

165. Does the knowledge of Spiritism have any influence on the duration of this state of confusion? 
“It has a substantial influence on its duration, because the spirit acquired a prior understanding about its new situation. However, the practice of righteousness and a clear conscience have the most influence.” 

When death arrives, everything is chaotic at first. The soul is stunned, similar to when a person wakes from a deep sleep, and needs time to establish its bearings and fully comprehend the situation. It gradually regains clarity and the memory of the past as the influence of the material envelope that it has recently shed weakens, and the fog that obscured its consciousness clears. 
The duration of confusion following death varies greatly. It may be a few hours, several months, or even years. Those who, during their human lives, have closely identified themselves with their future state do not remain confused for long, because they are able to gain quicker understanding of their situation. 

This confusion is completely dependent on specific features, and the type of death. In cases of violent death, suicide, torture, accident, stroke, injuries, and so on, the spirit is shocked and does not believe that it is dead. It stubbornly maintains the contrary and views the body that it has left as something separate from itself. It recognizes its body and cannot understand how it could be separated from it. It remains among those it has loved, speaks to them, and does not understand why they do not hear it. This illusion lasts until the perispirit has fully separated from the physical body. It is only when this is accomplished that the spirit begins to understand that it no longer is part of the physical world. 

This phenomenon is easy to explain. With death occurring unexpectedly, the spirit is stunned by the sudden change that has taken place. Death is still equivalent to destruction for the spirit and it thinks that it cannot possibly be dead. This illusion is still further reinforced by seeing itself with a body similar to the one it has left, because it does not immediately perceive its ethereal (not composed of matter) nature and believes that it is solid, just as it was in the corporeal world. 
The confusion that follows death is in no way painful for people who have lived an honest life. They are calm and feel as if they are peacefully waking out of slumber. However, people whose conscience is not clear are brimming with anxiety and anguish and this only heightens as they gain full cognizance. 

In cases of a collective death, in which many individuals have died together in the same catastrophe, they do not always see one another immediately afterwards. Each spirit goes its own way in the confusion following death, or only worries about those in whom it takes an interest.
