Chicago - September 11, 2016

In attendance:
Bernardo, Carmen, Denise, Emiliano, Esperanza, Gabe, Isabel, Isaac, Janet, Jeff, Jose, Maricela, Marisol, Milagros, Nelson, Ron, Sonia and Xaver

 

Spirit 1 (via Nelson):  After the opening prayer, Nelson read the Prayer for the Recently Deceased, and just as he did last week, Caballito extended the prayer once it was finished.  Nelson had been smelling smoke from a fire all morning - as if wood was burning.  After a short discussion prior to being seated at the table, it was determined that what Nelson was smelling was related to a house fire that took four lives.  Marisol's uncle who was now in the spirit world (Cando) was married with one son when he and his wife divorced.  Cando remarried, and his first wife (Olga) had additional children with another man.  After a while, Olga was planning to leave the father of her children, as she was considering a return to Cando.  If the father could not be with Olga and her children, he wanted to assure that no one would ever be with any of them - so he deliberately set the house on fire, and he watched as the family burned to death.  This man later died in another fire, crawling on the floor in an attempt to escape.

 

Spirit 2 (via Nelson):  The spirit of the arsonist was present, and he was the reason for Nelson experiencing the thick stench of smoke. Nelson was shown an image of the mother trying to shield her children by covering them with her arms.  Maricela had a similar vision of the family huddled together in a corner, and she said that we could not help them until we helped the spirit of the man who caused the fire.  It was difficult for Nelson to let such a criminal use his body and energy.  Caballito gently explained that the spiritual repercussions from the man setting the fire were excruciating.  The four lives lost in the fire were reliving their last moments over and over, the man who set the fire was still burning, and Cando's spirit was unable to progress, as his son died in the fire.   Nelson began crying in agony as the spirit arrived:

Spirit (remorseful): Aye, aye, aye.  The things we do that we can't take back.  I would do anything to take it back, and I can't!  (sobbed)  How are they going to forgive me?  How?  How can I ever move away from being burned?

Jeff: You need to understand why you are burning.

Marisol: Ask for forgiveness and support to redeem your soul.

Spirit: I see them.  I see them and I want to go to my knees and say how sorry I am for what I've done.  I know they (the spirit guides) are going to take me, but I want to ask for forgiveness.  I wasn't willing to share what I thought was mine.  How wrong.  I thought this way no one else would ever have her.  I've been tormented, I haven't had one second of peace.  It's an eternal fire. 

Marisol: God is merciful. 

Spirit (shaking his fists up and down in front of his chest):  They told me that some of you here knew her, so I wanted to say I was sorry, I am so sorry!

Marisol: Ask for a way to redeem your spirit.

Spirit: I know my time here is short.  I can liberate them, those I harmed.  (pause)  They are free now, but I will never be free.  (listening to the good guides near him)  If they are free, then one day I can be free? 

 

The spirit jumped in his seat and left.  Nelson was shaking, but the smoke smell had vanished.  Janet shared that after he lost his son in the fire, a change came over Cando - as he felt guilty over not being able to save his son or the others lost in the fire.

 

Spirits 3 & 4 (via Carmen):  A new spirit was emerging, and it was related to Denise and Lisa, her troubled niece.  On Wednesday, Lisa set Denise a text implying that she was going to end her life:
Spirit (authoritative): I need your attention, everyone needs to pay attention to me.  I am almost done!

Nelson: What is your message, my friend?
Spirit (insistent): Denise needs to take care of me!  I'm always here.  I do not have a body, but I can do a lot of damage.  (Denise began to cry as she understood the impact this spirit had on her niece) 

Denise: My attention was with you.

Nelson: Lisa is an adult, she has to take care of herself.  (to Denise) Neither one of you can stop the other.

Spirit: I am just starting with her...I want to see her all chopped up.  She will not let go of that knife she has with her.  Chop her up in small pieces.  Ouch, I have a pain in my neck!  We are going to that hospital...

 

Carmen's guide ushered the spirit out and sat briefly to cleanse Carmen.  Nelson was being shown that this spirit died by hanging herself from a tree.  She had 12 other spirits with her - six who had mental issues and six others who did not.  When Denise found Lisa, she was clutching a tree branch that extended over the river.  Nelson was shown that the water she was attempting to drown herself in wasn't even as deep as her waist.  Lisa needed to stay on her medication and if she did not, she needed psychological help or an institution.  Caballito returned to explain that Lisa never had any intention of ending her own life. 

 

Sonia had been shown things while the spirits of the arsonist and the suicide spirit were seated, and she wanted to share them with the table. With the spirit who caused the fire, Sonia saw the silhouette of a lady standing behind the male, with her hand on his shoulder - as if she forgave him.  Sonia could not see their faces, and Nelson said it was because their faces were burned off.  Sonia also saw the tree that Lisa was clinging to when she was found.  She saw it as the tree of life. 

 

Nelson explained the ongoing issues with his niece in Puerto Rico (Mirelsa).  She was in a very dark place in her previous existence, and her current life was a way for her to advance and to help those spirits from her last reincarnation.  Without her medication, Mirelsa saw those previous spirits, and she went back with them to where she came from - which caused her to run from them, screaming in fright.  The pattern of these self-induced spells was repeated over and over, and it was damaging her physical health.  Mirelsa was thirty years old and she weighed only 80 pounds.  When Nelson spoke to his brother about the situation, he envisioned his niece in a coma condition, with her mind in one world and her body in another:
Sonia: It has to do with the weight.  Her body will shut down.

Nelson: We have been trying to get a past life regression with a doctor for her.

Marisol: It's what she needs.

(Update:  The appointment for the past life regression is scheduled for September 23. Nelson had previously asked for some help from his guide, and Caballito moved into Nelson to answer)
Caballito:  We do what we can.  Be strong, because it is going to happen.  There is nothing you can do.  It is the same for you, Denise.  Let. It. Go.  You must be the one who says (to Lisa and her entire family) that you are not going to run anymore.  Please stop.  The next time everyone wants to run, tell them that you will only take one step at a time - because you know better.  You know this.  Set the example.  Love the way that you are doing it is not love.  Where are her parents?  WHERE ARE HER PARENTS?

Denise: Her dad was with me all night.

Caballito: So why were you there? 

Marisol: You could sign the hospital papers and leave...

 

Spirit 5 (via Sonia):  The discussion with Denise caused a spirit to move into Sonia to speak:

Spirit (to Denise):  How many times do we need to tell you?  How many?  I have a headache from saying it.  How many is enough?  If you are not already crazy, you will be soon enough.  Just take this headache away, because it is not mine.  Stop crying...

Caballito (to Denise):  If you continue doing what you are doing, YOU will be in a hospital - and nobody, do you hear me, nobody - will come to see you.  Take care of yourself first, because you cannot stop others from doing what they want to do.  Pack some clothing and live in your car if necessary - because you cannot live the way you are with her.  Do you understand?  DO YOU UNDERSTAND?  Live under a bridge if it's the only way to keep your mind sane.

 

Marisol noticed a spirit earlier who was peeking into the room but seemed too frightened to enter.  Caballito explained that we had many visitors on Friday for the memorial service, and they came with spirits attached to them.  Some of those spirits were now curious about what we were doing.  Similar to the humans who attended, the spirits felt a calm peace in the center.  Isabel said she noticed a light shining on one wall, but when she looked again, the light was fading.  Caballito explained, "The energy of the guides who are here to protect caused that light you experienced.  The whiter the light, the stronger the energy."

 

Spirit 6 (via Nelson):  The conversation about light prompted the spirit of Charlotte (the founder of the temple) to arrive.  She wanted Sonia to know that after the memorial on Friday, it was she who turned off the lights - using Sonia's hand. Nelson was tired, and he hoped that Charlotte would communicate from a position behind him, but Charlotte wanted to express some things in her own words:

Charlotte: Be careful when you speak, as it represents who you are.  Yes, there were many friends here, and some of them were invited and some were not.  Those who were not invited, we will take them away today, with us. How nice for others to perceive and receive what we have put into place!  I was happy to see those candles lit, as we did that, too.  (to Sonia)  I want to be really honest with you.  At one point, I did not think that you had what it takes (to run the center), and now I know that you do!  You took my place, and I am so happy to pass the torch to you.  This man (Nelson) was so stubborn, he did not want to let me sit!

Jeff:  Sometimes he is apprehensive...

Charlotte:  Say it - stubborn!  He is stubborn!  You see how quietly I speak, and I know you understand that it was not easy for a woman to build this place.  (softly)  Do you know what I did to get everyone to focus? This!  (hit the table loudly with her fist)  Do you see how that works?  (did it again)  As for those people you were discussing, those who want to come here - I never closed these doors to anyone, and it would be wonderful.  This is for all, not just for a few.  Invite some friends, and tell them the doors are open as long as they are respectful.  (to Marisol)  And if you are not ready for your son to leave, he is welcome to stay here with us.  I know what you were thinking, and we will watch over him for you.  Thank you....

 

Nelson closed with a prayer.

Puerto Rico - May 14, 2017

In attendance: Bey, Christine, Diego, Eva, Ivan, Jeff, Junior, Lourdes, Luis, Nelson and Nydia

 

Prior to the opening prayer, there was a group discussion on how everyone was responsible for their own actions and destiny (that conversation became the central theme of our session).  After the opening prayer, Eva read a prayer for mothers and Lourdes read Kardec's prayed for the mothers who have passed on.

 

Spirit 1 (via Nelson):  Nelson asked Diego about his dad's condition, and he responded that it was not good, but he was uncertain over that the doctor said.  The conversation continued:

Nydia (regarding the health of Diego's dad): It's his responsibility - nobody else.  It starts and ends with him.

Diego:  He likes to be in control, to give lectures.

Nelson:  I am seeing a plantation.  It's in Spain.  He was the owner, and he had many workers.  Whatever he said, it was done (and he expected the same response in his current life).  On this plantation, if someone did not do what he said, he fed them worms.  They had to swallow the worms alive, so the worms would slowly eat away at the insides of the person.  That's why he has lost half of his intestine, and if he doesn't change, he will lose more.  The two of you (Ivan and Diego, his son in this life) were with him.  Ivan, you were just below him, and you took over the plantation.  He resented that, which is why in this life he thinks that Ivan has nothing from him - appearance, the way he acts.  (Nelson began to choke, and it was hard for him to swallow.  He felt like vomiting)  Diego, he sees you differently than Ivan.  You like to do things that no none can see.  Keep secrets (Nelson demonstrated by hiding his face in a corner of the tablecloth.  There was more violent coughing, and a spirit arrived to sit through Nelson.  He looked at the floor as he spoke:)

Spirit: Demon!  Devil!  Where is that demon (the father)?  Such a criminal.  Where is he hiding?  Criminal!  I'm his friend, I am his very good friend.  (Junior coached the spirit until he was calmer)

Spirit: My primary concern is with the meal.  We were three 'Los Brisas' (the last name of the father, Ivan and Diego in their prior life), we were numbered I, II, III.  Now I have a hunger and I cannot eat.  (began to cry with pain)  Aye, aye, aye.  What a devil!  So evil.  The doctors cannot stop the pain.

Eva: Its a manifestation of cause and effect.

Junior: How many in your group? (15)  All of you are invited to a school to learn...

 

The spirit left suddenly with his group.  Nydia recommended a prayer, and Junior added, "He needs to get on the right road." 

 

Spirit 2 (via Nydia): Nydia's spirit guide arrived with some words for our group:

Spirit (very valiant): God bless you.  My spirit is happy with the work.  It's a constant evolution.  This was a demonstration of cause and effect, and the need to study spiritism. You need the correct instructions for your lives, for happiness.  It's freedom (somos libres).   It's not physical, it's emotional.  We are all prisoners of our own thoughts and actions because we are unwilling to change.  It's an evolutionary process.  I want to thank all of you...

 

Spirit 3 (via Nelson): Nelson was idly staring at a hill, and as he watched, it slowly became a mountaintop.

Nelson (to Christine):  I'm not interested in looking, but I see you on that mountain - nude.  You are breathing in the fresh air, and you are very happy.  You are communicating with everything around you - talking - and the conversation is very interesting.  Everything is so beautiful, it's like you are having a conversation with God.  There's the spirit of a young girl with you now.  She wants to be your daughter. Her spirit is as free as yours, and she is grabbing your hand.  She's not wearing any shoes, she feels free.  She grabs your hand because she wants to show you things, and she is a very pretty spirit.  She was brought here because she understands that she has to separate herself from you - to start the reincarnation process to be born as your daughter.  It's so beautiful, and she is a very intelligent spirit.  She has been visiting you, but she knows that she cannot do that anymore, as she has to prepare herself (the spirit moved into Nelson):

Spirit (adorably childish):  This is life, this is what I enjoy!  Que linda, que linda la vida!  I want to be with you, but (distracted) mira.  Mira, what a flower!  Look!  Such nectar!  What a beautiful mountain. I am very content to have this opportunity to ask you something.  I talk to you a lot, and you never hear me.  (the spirit began to cry as she realized that what she wanted to tell Christine was that she had to leave her to prepare to be born as her daughter)  I have been with you a long time, and our habits are the same.  We both twirl our curly hair (demonstrated).  There's a man here telling me that I will see you again soon.  So I'm not sad, and I won't say goodbye, I will say, 'see you soon'.  I leave with happiness.  That's my name - Felicidad!  So I leave, because I can tell you that I will see you soon...

 

The light, happy spirit left on a soft breeze as it was blowing.  It was apparent that if Christine agreed, this bright spirit would become her daughter.  Nelson was energized and gratified.  He attributed it to the spirit of the little girl, explaining that his process was for his spirit to step aside to allow another spirit to use his energy to speak.  The spirit used Nelson's energy for something good, and it left him refreshed.

 

Spirit 4 (via Nydia): Nelson asked Lourdes how her husband was doing, and she said he was improving:

Nelson: Improving mentally?

Lourdes: It depends on the situation.

Nelson: I'm asking about his mental condition not with you - or the kids - with himself.

Lourdes: It's good.  He knows it's a process, but it's difficult - serious.

Nydia: He didn't accept what happened (as she spoke, a very authoritative spirit sat through Nydia)

Spirit: I don't accept this!  Why is this happening to ME?  What do I do with my pride?  Explain it! 

Nelson:  There are some material things that are a part of every life.

Spirit (cried with Nydia's head on the table):  All my efforts, for such a long time - and look how I am treated! 

Junior: Those things are not important.

Spirit (still crying):  but it hurts, it hurts.  It hurts!

Junior: On earth, on this planet, we experience trials of pain.

Spirit (in pain):  Aye-eeh, aye-eeh.  I don't want to go through this.  Why me?  So much pain, aye-eeh.

Junior: Leave the material in the material.

Spirit: What is the cause?  Why me?

Nelson: You have to decide if you want to live with the material or with the spiritual.  Little by little.

Spirit: I am here with 23 friends. Stop the suffering (still crying but more determined).  My spirit!  My soul!  I will leave with my compadres to find some light.  This is terrible.

 

Nydia had a difficult recovery from passing the spirit.  She advised Lourdes to read the prayer for those who are afflicted.  Nelson advised that Lourdes' husband needed to be more open.  He feels that his life is only between him and Lourdes, and he is suffocating himself because he is not willing to share his concerns.  He needs to stop keeping his problems concealed, and Lourdes should ask him about it.

 

Spirit 5 (via Nelson):  Nelson was being shown a hierarchy of priests in Spain.  All of them were in colored caps that indicated their rank within the Catholic church.  There was a spirit emerging, and he wore a red cap (to indicate that he was a cardinal). Nobody questioned his decisions, he had complete authority.  He was responsible for making Lourdes' husband (Luis) act the same way.  In his current life, Luis' mother was very religious, and in the past life that Nelson was seeing, she was the Mother Superior at the church with the cardinal.  She never obeyed him, and they fought constantly in that life, and the same pattern was repeating in the current life.  Lourdes was not with her husband in the past life, but his oldest son in this life was there with him.  The older son from this life was a lessor priest who fought with the cardinal in the prior life (and that pattern was also repeating in their current life together). 

 

(Note: Jeff realized that we had visited this past life before at a Chicago session.  Luis was the cardinal in charge, his oldest son was a priest working under him, and his youngest son was a new priest hiding young boys from abuse.) 

 

In his current life, Luis believed that all of his children never listened to anything he said, they just did what they wanted, and it frustrated him.  Nelson saw him asking someone for a glass of water, and when it arrived, he insisted he asked for 7-Up. The conversation continued:

Nelson: Does he have problems in the stomach area?

Lourdes: No, nothing.

Nelson: It's the pain from his leg - it hurts him in that area.  (Lourdes agreed)  The spirit of the cardinal leaves him alone for a while, and then he brings the pain again.  (Nelson spoke directly to the spirit)  What are you getting from this?  Why do you enjoy bothering him?  (the spirit arrived to respond)

Spirit (angrily hitting things as he spoke):  I need things to be in order!  Its what I say!  It's hot in here, where's the air?  No respect for me here.  Who am I taking to here?  Demons?

Junior: You can say whatever you want here.

Spirit: I have a lot to say!  (the spirit started a rapid tirade in Spanish that lasted for quite a while)  I have to molest him, I have to give him pain.  Dolor!

Junior: Its time to move on.

Spirit: No, no, no!  Not until I take his hand and restore order.  I am very elevated.  I have my prayer book, and this is my work - my God.  When he reads prayers, his ritual, I read my book with him and observe.  When I go there, I go alone.

Lourdes: His mother in his life is very Catholic.

Spirit: That monga!  Nun!  She has too many opinions, and I am disposing of her.  She has to serve only me!  She protects him!  (pause)  This guy (the spirit guide) is talking a lot.  It bothers me.  Maybe we will leave that house.

Junior: How many in your group?

Spirit: There can only be one cardinal, and that is me.  There are seven others who did all the reading and writing for me.

Jeff: You were very important!

Spirit: Except here.  We have six boys...and they..well they did the necessities of the world, if you know what I mean.  And that Mother Superior and her nuns - seven of them.  (pause)  And four kids.  I didn't want to talk about them.

Nydia: Abortions.

Spirit: We had three nuns dedicated to that.  Goodbye.

 

Spirit 6 (via Nelson): The spirit of the cardinal departed abruptly, and Nelson's spirit guide arrive with some advice for Lourdes:

Caballito:  Make mutual decisions.  Not just what he decides, and do not involve your kids.  The two of you need to have harmonious conversations.  He knows what you believe, so it would be okay to ask if you could read a prayer first.  Say, "I want us to be in harmony, so I want to read this first."  You will know which one, just as you know that this is not your brother speaking.

Lourdes: I know.

Caballito:  This is my work, and I need to do it.

Junior: The results are important.

Caballito (to Luis):  Sometimes you wonder where the strengths of those melodies you compose come from.  You are not alone, we are helping write those beautiful things.  None of you are alone.  Don't call us when you are angry, don't make a phone call to us in an angry mood.  We do not answer angry demands.  Call us when you are at peace - and happy.  (to Diego)  You dodged a bullet, and you didn't know who to call.  You called this one (Nelson) and he called me.  You were never alone in that moment of pain.  All you needed was a little bit of faith.  (for Nydia)  How is your pain?
Nydia: Gone.

Caballito:  Would you do a favor for me?  Invite your son.  It would be an invitation for him to join his spiritual family.  (Nydia agreed)  Jeff, is it okay to use you as an example?  (it was)  Jeff understands nothing that is being said here (all the sessions are in Spanish), but when he writes the notes, everyone thinks that he does understand.  (to Jeff)  I want to thank you personally, and that is something I do not do often.  Thank you for allowing him (Nelson) to do his work.  The two of us are one. 

 

Caballito (to Nelson's father):  You know this is not your son, it's his friend - with a few words.  Nobody is alone, but the idea of being alone is in our thoughts.  Being alone, that feeling is only material.  You are never alone spiritually.  Little by little, learn to accept life.  There are difficult things and it's always changing.  Make good changes.

Bey:  I don't want anything negative.  And the life of my wife?  I call her, and she responds.

Caballito: Why?  She is not here anymore.  It is her friends around her who are responding.  She is involved in a grand plan, and like you, she is not alone.  You asked where she is now.  Its not necessary for your children to visit you, as you are not alone.  I'm going to move to the side.

 

Spirit 7 (via Nelson):  Nelson began to drip with sweat.  He saw himself in his father's house, and he asked, "Is it this hot in your house?" (it was)  The spirit of a happy madame arrived:
Spirit: Carumba, carumba!  Mi amiga!  I am a black madame, like the rest of my group.  I am in that hot house.  I talk to him, but he never answers.

Junior: He can't hear or understand you.

Spirit (regarding Dona Patria): There is a lot of curiosity over that life.  (to Lourdes)  Your mother did her job, and we were with her until the end.  She was never in pain.  We made sure she was comfortable, and you never heard her complain. 

Eva: It's the sign of an elevated spirit that she suffered without any pain.

Spirit (laughed): Does she know that pain is all over the world?

Junior: Your energy is very strong.

Spirit: I only want her to be tranquil.  It's my work.  Those friends that bothered her are now with me.

Bey: She was the greatest mother in the world who raised four children!

Spirit: She had a black doll that looked like me.  The house was cleaned, but that black doll is still in that room.  Nobody could remove it.  It's not needed anymore.  She was a madame like me, and another madame (the spirit of Norma) brought me in today.  She was a madame like us, and she is very good.  (looked at Nydia)  And you are the same!  He (Nelson) was worried about his arm - for three days!  He put some cream on it (Vics!) but it was me.  I will take 16 madames with me, along with 14 other blacks and four male madames.

 

The group recited the closing prayer in unison.

Just A Thought

Puerto Rico - May 10, 2017

In attendance: Angel, Carmen, Eva, Ivan, Jeff, Junior, Maribel, Normita, and Nelson

 

Spirit 1 (via Nelson):  It was exactly two months since Nelson's mother had passed away, and he wanted to read the prayer for the recently departed to hasten her progress.  Once he finished reading, his spirit guide (Caballito) continued the prayer by extending it with his own words.  Junior read the opening prayer, and Eva wanted to offer a prayer for all the mother's who had transitioned back to the spirit side.  Nelson reminded the group that all of us have had more than one mother. 

 

Spirit 2 (via Nelson):  The normal process for Nelson before a spirit sits is that Caballito mentally explains to him what will happen, next he ushers the spirit in, and Nelson allows the spirit to use his energy to speak.  With the next spirit, there wasn't enough time for any of that to happen.  Nelson was shown that Jeff's mother was about to fall on the floor, and Caballito silently told Nelson that they had to go to her immediately, without any explanation:

Nelson: I see her passing out.  She's dizzy.  Someone needs to hold her, she's falling!   She's alone.  She is surrounded by so many spiritual enemies, they control her behavior - and what she says.  She is going to fall, someone has to help her...(Caballito took Nelson to her and the two of them returned with a spirit)

Spirit (insistent): She is coming in a box, and she will not be talking any more.  I have tried many times to finish what I started, and today is the day that I will finish her.  The way she finished me.  That's how they found me, dead on the floor.  (Jeff realized that the spirit was the father who raised him)

Jeff: Can you forgive her for that?  Let it go?
Spirit: Forgive her?  How can you forgive someone who harmed me for so long?  It's the things she said, the things she still says.  She hurts me every time she speaks.

Jeff: I know, I understand.  She does that to everyone, because she doesn't know any better.  But you know better, so try to forget about her.

Spirit (crying):  Do you know?  Do you know she let me die all alone on the floor?  It hurt so much.

Jeff: I know it was difficult.

Normita: You are better than that, you are not like her.  You are different.  Don't tie yourself to her anymore.  Leave her, you are not responsible for her any more.

Spirit (confused):  He took me from that situation.  Where am I?
Jeff: In a place where we will listen and help you.

Spirit (intense crying):  I recognize you!  I know you, you are my son!

Jeff: Yes.  And you were an excellent father.

Spirit: I  am so glad they didn't let me finish what I wanted to do.  I had no idea that I could see you.

Jeff: And you can come back anytime you want.  Just go with those friends around you now and they will help you to relax and to forgive and learn.

Spirit: I don't need to be with her anymore?  For anything? 

Jeff: It's time to think about yourself and not her.

Spirit: Can they forgive me for my ignorance?  I can go and I will go - and I will learn.  It's me and two others, we are three.

Jeff: It's going to be a wonderful journey...

 

Spirit 3 (via Nelson): Nelson was being shown a new spirit.  It was a woman with blonde hair who died from a horrific cancer.  Enormity realized it was her mother's sister - Angel's mom:
Nelson (to Angel):  Do you have any children?

Angel: One son.  He is in school in Aquadilla.

Nelson:  Your mother, his grandmother, she is preoccupied with him.  She's not here for you, only for him.

Normita: Towards the end of her life, she was very reclusive. 

Nelson: I see her walking and walking, saying that it's not her fault.  She walking up a hill, and it's not her fault.  She's asking us, 'What is your proposal?'  I am sensing your son telling his mother that he is alone.  So alone and far away.  He feels alone.  Solo, solo.

Angel: He moves through life like he's in a dream.

Nelson: And he is tired of it.  Is there a mountain near your house?  A hill?  (yes)  That's the road his grandmother is walking on, going up the hill.  (Nelson was shown the son hanging from a tree branch on the hill)  Your son thinks he has an illogical life.  We cannot permit him to become a casualty.  (Normita began to read a prayer - the plegaria del naufrago, or the plea for those who are lost.  See the prayer here: https://natividaddelosmares.me/2009/08/09/la-plegaria-del-naufragodel-libro-coleccion-de-oraciones-escogidas-de-allan-kardeck/ In the middle of the prayer, a spirit representing the thoughts of the son arrived)

Spirit (depressed): Nobody cares.  I'm alone, walking that road.  I have nothing.  No one.

Normita: You have love, and that's what you need in this world.

Spirit (hands extended, looking up):  Who am I?  Why am I here?  I have nothing...

Angel: Yes, that's how he feels.

Spirit:  I want to go with him (to die by hanging with Angel's son)

Junior (to the spirit):  You do not have a body.  You cannot feel that way.

 

The spirit explained that Angel's son was now 22 years old, and in his prior life, the son committed suicide (by hanging) at age 23.  The spirit said that it was the same pattern repeating itself in this life:

Spirit:  We tell him, 'Regresa nosotros (Come back to us).'  I hear him calling me.

Normita:  Like him, you have many who love you, and this is a new opportunity for you in your spiritual life.  It's your decision to end your suffering.

Spirit:  What is in my hands is that I have to repeat it (the same behavior).  I already have it (the noose) on (demonstrated as if it was tightly around his neck). 

Normita: It doesn't need to be that way.

Spirit:  There is a man here.  He says he can remove the noose.  (pause)  Mira, look at that.  Forgive me.  We are a group of 19.

 

The spirit hugged himself tightly as he departed, as if he had finally learned to love himself.  Nelson advised Angel to speak with his son, and he told him not to dance around the subject.  He should invite the son back home to spend the weekend with his parents.  He needs to know that he is loved.

 

Spirit 4 (via Nelson): On Saturday, Caballito showed Nelson that the spirit of a very powerful judge was present at our session.  He was observing our group, and Nelson said that his both is light and his level of intelligence were both very intense.  It was as if our group was being presented as evidence in a court case that the judge was presiding over.  The judge was not a good spirit, he worked for the other side.  The court case was about his belief that Puerto Rico was heading in a negative direction, and this would make it easier for his side to collect more souls/spirits for the dark side.  It seemed that Caballito wanted to demonstrate to the spirit judge that there were some Puerto Ricans who were resisting the trend (our group).  Nelson described the judge as smart, arrogant and grand, and he was a skillful orator with many formal gestures:

Spirit (formally): The more impure, the easier.  I am dedicated to only one thing - the suffering of life.  And here (in Puerto Rico) there is no love, no compassion, no caring for your brothers.  There is even fighting among friends.  Am I lying?
Junior: No, it's correct.

Spirit: It's in their hands, and it has been that way for some time.  They are not worried about their pueblo, only their own material gains.  It is not just here, look at Venezuela, Brazil, Africa.  Their children will suffer for an eternity over what is being done now.  And we will collect.  I thank my superiors for allowing me to bring you these words.  Find the correct road.  Become intellectuals, not consumers needing more, and more and more.  I am insignificant.  Think!  Thinking is significant.  It is difficult to modify your behavior.  Very difficult.  But there is a road, my friends, and acting incorrectly leads to the wrong road.  It's not an easy road.  Thank you for this opportunity.  I am only one, a spirit judge.  But in my group there are more (he listed everyone in the group and the number added up to 2017).

 

The judge folded his arms tightly across his chest and he was gone.  Eva said she saw many military spirits during the opening prayer.  Nelson was exhausted, so the last part of the session was dedicated to discussions and education.  The group recited the closing prayer in unison. 

Puerto Rico - May 6, 2017

In attendance: Bey, Carmen, Christine, Eva, Helvia, Ivan, Jeff, Junior, Lizette, Lourdes, Luis, Mary, Milagros, Nestor, Nelson, Nilka, Normita, Nydia, and Rina

Nelson expressed his thanks to the group for their support in March during the transition of his mother back to the spirit world.  Nelson shared a story of Erika (from the Chicago sessions) and how her persistence and faith paid off after several months of trying to get an X-ray that was advised by Caballito.  He also reminded Mary that she was advised in January to take life easier - and she still has not learned that lesson. 

Spirits 1 & 2 (via Nydia and Nelson): There was a male spirit present for Mary, and he was causing Nelson to cough violently.  Nydia was also envisioning another spirit connected to Mary who presented himself as a dog, because that was the way that Mary was being treated by her family.  The two spirits took turns speaking.  The spirit with Nydia was angry and vengeful, and he drew deep breaths as he spoke - similar to a dog panting.  Mary and Junior counseled the two spirits:

Nelson's spirit (hitting the table):  De espalda!  (so backwards)  What is this pain?

Nydia's spirit: The pain of suffering.

Nelson's spirit:  That's a meal for her (Mary).  And I am not leaving until it's over.

Nydia's spirit (to Mary): Do you want to know my name? 

Mary: Is it Angel (Mary's husband)?
Nydia: Yes!!  Angelito!  But he is not an angel.  She takes care of everything while he live an enjoyable life.  If she gets sick, none of them will help her.  She (Mary) has been given many messages (laughed) and now she is my friend!

Mary: I have been cleaning in my house for three weeks, trying to remove you...

Nelson: I am like dust (blows air out) and just when you think I am gone, I is back.  Angelito is a criminal!   Juntos!  Together!  There will be no tranquility in that house, no calm with a criminal! 

Nydia: Because she is involved in everything she should not be involved with.

Junior:  Let's open a door of happiness for you - a new opportunity to progress.

Nydia: We area group of black madame's - and we are leaving.

Nelson: No.  Not with those two criminals together.  (pause)  This guy (the spirit guide) is bothering me a lot.  He is worse than dust (demonstrated by blowing air again).  We are four, and we will all go.

Nelson asked Normita about her husband, and she shared that he was not well, and he was uncertain as to what was going on.  She said he sensed spirits, and there was one particular spirit that would completely take him over.  When that spirit arrived, his mood changed completely.  His anger was so strong that the rest of the family would leave the house.  The mediums had some suggestions:

Nelson:  Invite him here to a session.

Nydia: His life is "too material." 

Mary (firmly): Is he waiting for a written invitation? 

Helvia was sensing a spirit, but she was reluctant to let it sit.  Nelson advised her, "Little by little, just let it happen.  This is your family.  Spirit work is a combination of a guide and a medium.  What are you sensing?

Helvia: Energy.  And I don't think it's my mother...

Nelson:  It's your guide.  Let go completely...

Nydia recommended that Helvia read the book written by Mary and Etel from Argentina to help.

Spirit 3 (via Nelson):  Nilka saw some old clothing in a corner and it was related to Lizette.  Nelson asked her how many children she had (2), and he sensed the spirit that Nilka felt was related to the daughter.  Nelson said, "She has another mother, and it's not you.  It's a spirit who wants to be her mother instead of you."  (as he spoke, the spirit moved into Nelson):

Spirit (to Lizette): That girl is not yours.  She is mine!  Mine!  She's my child!

Junior (to Lizette):  What is her name?

Lizette: Camilla

Junior (to the spirit):  Is that the one you are looking for?
Spirit (annoyed):  I don't care what you call her, SHE IS MINE!  (Note: In The Spirits' Book, Kardec advised that asking a spirit for a specific name was not a reliable coaching method.  The spirits identify humans by their energies - not by human names.)  She's my child!  No, nunca!  MINE!

Junior: You are a spirit, and she was your child in a past existence.

Spirit: No, she is my child.  I do not like her (Lizette)!  I am an intelligent person, and I know what is mine. 

Junior: You are a spirit, you are not material.  There is a division.  You need a school, to progress.

Spirit: What I need is to separate my daughter from her! 

Normita: You do not have a body!  She has a body.

Spirit (tearfully):  But she talks to me.  It touches my heart!

Normita: She has another family in this existence.

Spirit (more tears):  That is difficult to accept.  How can I say goodbye? 

Normita:  You can come back later - after you progress and learn - and see her again.

Spirit: I want to give her a kiss.  Adios my child, adios.

Junior: How many are with you?

Spirit (sadly): One.  Only me.

As Nelson was recovering, Nilka sensed that Lizette's daughter thought something was wrong with her, as she felt the motherly spirit presence around.  "Ask your daughter if she is suffering," Nilka advised, "She wants to talk about it."  Nelson added, "Only when her suffering ends will she find true happiness."

Spirits 4 & 5 (via Nydia):  Nydia sensed a spirit that was having an effect on Lourdes.  As she mentioned it, Nydia and Lourdes both began to cry:
Spirit: So much pain.  Dolor!  (rocking back and forth and holding herself)  Help me, help me, I am all alone with all this pain!  (Nilka moved to Lourdes to comfort her, while Mary stood behind Nydia, as it became apparent that the spirit with Nydia was a reflection of how Lourdes was feeling.)

Spirit (painfully): Aye, aye, aye.  This is terrible.  Dolor, dolor.  Such pain.

Nelson: You are not alone.  Look around you.  Your brothers and your father are all here.  (to Lourdes)  There is a spirit with your spouse.  (to the spirit with Nydia)  You do not have a body to experience that suffering. 

Spirit (the crying intensified for the spirit and Lourdes):  Life!  What a life I am living.  I want to go.  I will go!  This is difficult, so difficult.  We are 27.  (The spirit had a painful departure, and Nydia's guide arrived to cleanse and energize her.)

Spirits 6 & 7 (via Nelson):  Nelson's spirit guide stepped forward to address Lourdes directly:

Caballito (very stern):  You cannot permit this.  There are difficulties with your spouse, which is why you feel alone (Lourdes agreed).  This is a distinct pain, and you know where it comes from.  Clean yourself, and clean that house.  Clear away the imperfections with tranquility and compassion.  NOBODY is alone!  The spiritual help continues regardless of how involved you are with the material world issues.  Lourdes, accept your troubles with love.  Your family is around you, there is no reason to be tormented.  Have a life of love and spiritism, and you will live in harmony.  Has your husband been to a doctor?

Lourdes: He has a lot of pain - mucho dolor.  It's affecting me a lot, and I also lost my mother...

Caballito: Are you the only one here who has lost a mother?

Junior: When those things happen, you reach out to family.

Caballito was showing Nelson the spirit who was with the husband of Lourdes.  The spirit described himself as "a dictator," and he was influencing the husband to act the same way.  Nydia said, "He was a dictator in a previous life, and he is a dictator now..."

Spirit (arriving through Nelson):  Yo digo (I say it)!  I am the dictator!  Do what I say.  No one refuses me!  (standing)  I know I am a spirit, and this is MY WORK, to make her (Lourdes) suffer alone. 

Lourdes:  Completely correct.  There is a lot of pain.

Spirit (mischievously): It's a special pain.  In a format just for you.  No other opinions are permitted!  (to the group)  My question to you is why am I here?  (hit the table)  Why?

Junior: Why do you want to control things?  No more.

Spirit: Listen, they opened the door.  It's crazy, completely crazy.  Do you want to know more?  Should I open up my suitcase?  There's a joven in there.  Juan Pablo is his name.

Nydia (to Lourdes): Find some light in your house...

Spirit: She will only find herself on the floor!  (pause)  I'm tired, I want to be free of them.  Let them think on their own.  (to Lourdes)  Don't invite me back, and I will end my work.  (forcefully, almost yelling)  Is that what you want?  Tranquillity?  (yes)  Do you want to know who will go with me?  It's a large group.  There are six, of us and we are with 32 nuns, and 44 children from the nuns.  Thank you for listening.  Adios.

Caballito returned to refresh Nelson after the difficult dictator spirit.  As he worked, he addressed Rina:

Caballito:  How is your daughter?  How is Mirelsa?

Rina: I talk with her frequently, and I see the progress in her recuperation.

Caballito: Really?  What is the condition of her appetite?

Rina: She is doing well.

Caballito: Physically?  Is she in pain?

Rina: She's between this existence and the past.  She's not interested in anything.

Caballito: Can I ask you a favor?  Do you and your spouse, her father (Junior) discuss her condition?  (there was no response, and Caballito became very strong and adamant)  The two of you have equal responsibility for her, and that doesn't end now that she is older.  She is still your child.  Can this friend of mine (Nelson) visit her one day with the two of you?  You will not be alone, and it will be very difficult work, but I can help with the spiritual side of it.  We need a spiritual extraction, and I will ask for some help from my good friend, Don Polo.  (Junior began to tear up)  Can it be arranged?  Jeff, you can go, but stay in the car.  You will be the driver.  Tell him (Nelson) that you will drive.  He will tell you that he will drive, but tell him I said it should be you.

Caballito was forceful and direct, and he spoke in a loud tone that demanded respect.  He asked for a towel, but Jeff forgot to bring one, and we could not locate one in Junior's house.  As the towel search continued, Caballito asked Nelson's father how he was holding up.  He said he was okay and coping.

Caballito: It will two years of spiritual progression for that friend (Nelson's mom).  It's a lot of time, but she will not be alone.  None of you in that family will be alone.  You know your mother, she wants to do it all, right away, in a hurry (pricita or rapidly). 

A towel was finally located and Caballito asked Ivan to step forward.  Nelson later shared that he told Caballito he was too exhausted to do any kind of healing, and Caballito showed him a vision of Ivan crying in a corner, all alone, and wanting to check out of his life.  Caballito asked Nelson, "So, shall we just leave him like that?"

Spirit 8 (via Nelson):  Caballito explained to the group that they would witness something new.  There was the spirit of a priest with Ivan, and this spirit was being punished with a penance that involved him standing upright for a very long period of time.  Ivan said his right leg felt numb, and that was what the spirit wanted - to slowly numb Ivan with pain until he gave up.  Caballito asked Ivan to grab one end of the towel while he held the other end.  He silently told Nelson that the spirit would be transferred from Ivan to Caballito.  Once that happened, Caballito would leave quickly with the spirit.  The procedure was very loud and very difficult for Caballito.  He twisted and grimaced in pain as the spirit moved into him.  Caballito shouted with agony, and then he and the spirit both disappeared.

Spirit 9 (via Nydia):  There was a spirit influencing Nestor, and Nydia gave him some advice: 

Nydia:  Your decisions now must be clear, transparent, and easily understood by everyone.  The more you think, the less you act.  Be firm, and decide.  (Note: Nestor was facing issues at work, with his ex-wife, his daughter, his family time with his father and his girlfriend.  He was trying to please everyone, but they were all angry or disappointed with him.)

Nestor:  It's strong, it's difficult.

Nydia:  But it's with you.  Create harmony in your life.

(Nilka was seeing the spirit of a woman, and she was acting coy and modest in order to attract Nestor's interest.  She was in an English-speaking Catholic Church, and she was reaching out for something sweet  or dulce, but she could not stretch far enough to reach it.

Mary:  Are you looking for a light?  It's hot,  Burning!

Nelson (to Nilka):  Don't be afraid to say what need to be said.

Spirit (speaking to Nestor through Nilka):  Hello, my love.  (stood up to reach out)  I want to go to him...

Nelson: No,  Instead, why don't you talk to us, and tell us about your energy.

Spirit (sad and wistful): I like it.  I like him.  What what is going on?  I need to be with him (playfully stroking and plying with her face).  It would be wonderful...

Nelson:  You have something with you, what is that?

Spirit: It's nothing.

Nelson: Its a knife (switchblade).

Spirit: I want to use it on her! 

Junior: She's not responsible.

Spirit (laughing):  I'm with her! (snapped her fingers)  He's happy with me! 

Nestor: No, no, no.

Nelson: Why do you really have that knife?
Spirit: To control him.  I'm the one that makes her cry.  Let him be with me!

Nelson:  Take that hand they are offering you.  It's a tranquil road for you, with happiness.

Spirit: My happiness is with him (started to cry), only with him.  It hurts.  It's hurts to be alone. 

Nelson: Your time with him has passed.  (all the mediums stood up as the spirit departed)

Nilka told Nestor that the spirit was with him, in his house.  Nelson added, "And anything can happen in a moment of anger." 

Nelson asked Milagros how the situation was with her daughter.  (Note: Her boyfriend was arrested and he blamed the daughter for turning him in.)

Nelson: Where is her ex?  Just because she doesn't see him, the problems with him are not over.  Be cautious.  She has a brother, correct? 

Milagros:  Yes, she has two.

Nelson:  There is one who looks out for her and one who is tired of her.  He feels that all she does is make mom (Milagros) cry - and he wants to be done with her.  If she wants to go out for a beer, she should have it at home.  She is better off alone.  There are difficult spiritual issues around him.

Milagros:  I understand it is a process that requires precaution. 

The group recited the closing prayer in unison.

Andres - A Celebration of Life

When life presents us with challenges, we struggle along, complaining to anyone who will listen over all our perceived misery.  But what if we were born with no ability to move?  Or to speak?  What if we only had our vision and our hearing?  When we imagine someone living that way for 33 years, our issues with life seem trivial.  Andres was someone who lived that life with a quiet wonder and a unique grace. Andres was the son of one of the mediums (Marisol), and he transitioned back to the spirit world last summer.  We had a memorial service for him at the Chicago center where we meet.  The upstairs section of the temple had not been used for over four years, and we needed to ask the spirits who still guarded the space for permission.  In addition to the human guests, those guardian spirits were present, as was Caballito (Nelson's guide) and his group of spiritual workers.

Marisol created two picture boards of photos and a video collage of images from from the life that she and her son (Andres) shared together:

Andres was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis when he was about three months old.  It's a disease of the central nervous system that disrupts the flow of information between the brain and the body.  The cause of MS is still unknown.

Purple and gold were the colors chosen by Charlotte (the woman who built the temple in the early 1960's), so Sonia used those colors for the reception tables in the lower level.  The curtained wall closed off the space where we have our Sunday and Wednesday sessions.

Marisol addressing the crowd of about 80-100 people:

Nelson read the spiritist prayer for spirits who have just left the earth.  The prayer helps with the separation of the soul from the body, and it shortens the state of confusion while assuring that the spirit has a more peaceful awakening in the spirit world. 

In English and Spanish, Sonia emotionally read two additional prayers:

Below:  Andres' father is in the green shirt.  After he and Marisol divorced, he remarried and had three other children.  The boy in the white shirt is the half brother of Andres, and he wanted to play a musical tribute for his brother.

He wanted to face his brother while he played

Marisol catered food and desserts downstairs after the memorial - and the downstairs reception was standing room only.  Just imagine how many spiritual friends were there, celebrating Andres most recent existence with the rest of us!

Are you having a bad day today?  Andres may have had about 12,045 of them, but he couldn't complain about them to anyone.  So like him, try to find the beauty, the true meaning of what you are enduring, and embrace it.  If Andres could do it daily, so can you...

Chicago - September 7, 2016

Marisol and her husband were standing in front of the ocean on the beach in Florida (as Nelson's spirit guide recommended in the Sunday session) and she received the phone call from hospice that her son had passed.  We had a memorial service for him at the center (see the next post).

 

In attendance: Emiliano, Esperanza, Gabe, Jeff, Marisol, Nelson, Sonia, and Xaver

 

Nelson described a spiritual battle that was occurring upstairs at the center.  It wasn't as if there was a war between two spiritual groups, it was more of a controversy over how to proceed.  Over the years, several different ceremonies were performed upstairs (marriages, baptisms, memorials) and the spirits who guarded the temple that Charlotte built were hesitant to let us have a service for Marisol's son in a place they considered as sacred as any church.  A guardian spirit of the temple explained that one of the primary reasons they objected was that no one ever asked their permission to use the church.  Nelson's spirit guide had brought his own group of spirits to explain the way we worked to the temple guardian spirits.  The ceremony for Andres would be similar to those in the past, but there would be no costumes (robes) or specific rituals.  The temple guardian spirits were all seated on one side, and Caballito's group was seated on the other side.  They were discussing how to work together to create a bond between the two groups.  The discussion process itself was a formal ceremony.  A spirit from one group clasped the hand of a spirit from the other group, until both groups were interwoven and meshed into one cohesive unit. 

 

Spirit 1 (via Nelson):  A spirit representing the temple guardians told Nelson that Marisol was the catalyst for this meeting, "As we need to ensure that Friday is as memorable as before, because we understand the loss of a child."  There would have been much more apprehension, but most of the guardian group was female, and some of them had suffered the same loss.  An elegant, elevated spirit decided to explain more:

Spirit: They may have given you permission, but we have not.  You are mixing two things, and we do not like it.  We wanted to interrupt your plans.  If it was up to us, this was not going to happen.  They overrode us.

Marisol: Give it a chance, it might be for the better.

Spirit:  It's not what we expected - or wanted.  We did things one way.  We have been observing, and we know that you do things differently.

Marisol: It's still for the good.

Spirit: That's the override.  You said that, and yet we have seen others who have lied.  I wasn't sure.  All we ask is that you treat it with respect.  It's not that we think we are better than you.  If everyone here was asked to cook the same thing, the results would all be different.  Everyone does it in their own way.  We understand more now, because they (Caballito's group) showed us a different kind of light.  There are different levels of light, and what surprised us was that this was a light we had not seen before.  When that light came in here, it was more pure than our light.  So we stepped aside.  We will take those of us who are not at the same conscious level as we are, and we will remove them.  The decision has been made to share - what you call this, a center - with my group.  We will be observing, to assure that you treat it with love and respect.  Sonia - we know who you are, as you were one of us.  When we saw you again, some of my friends were not happy with you.  But now we understand more, and we are willing to pass you that key.  Hopefully the door will still be open to us.

Sonia: The doors will always be open for you to speak.

Spirit:  Thank you.  Don't forget us.  We are moving on, and leaving something better than ourselves in charge.  Thank you for allowing us to express our concern.  I am leaving with my heart open.  Until next time...

 

The spirit departed quietly.  Nelson said that the spirit of the founder of the temple (Charlotte) was with the group, and she also approved.
